Supervisor Renewables will solve complex problems, manage work, and provide leadership to technicians and contractors in several areas of specialization associated with operation and maintenance of solar and battery storage (BESS) equipment. The Supv Renewables is responsible for committing to the work plans, executing the plans and schedules, and providing oversight to the work assigned to that group. Safety, environmental compliance, productivity and quality are all critical responsibilities of the role. The Supv Renewables will identify and address barriers, follow all aspects of the Renewables work management process, and effectively communicate the plans and direction of the organization to the workforce. This position will also focus on employee development and performance management for their direct reports. The Supervisor Renewables must be highly engaged in the construction and integration of new solar and BESS sites. Ongoing focus will be the oversight of solar and BESS site maintenance, managing 3rd party service providers required to provide deliverables outlined in contracts such as O&M agreements.

The Supervisor Renewables - Mountain region will have overall responsibility for Maiden Creek Solar and BESS, Gaston Solar, Beaverdam Solar, Asheville BESS, Craggy BESS, and Cliffside BESS.

Basic/Required Qualifications
  • Associate's degree and 3 yrs related experience

  • In Lieu of Degree and 3 years related experience, HS Diploma/GED and 7 years related experience

Additional Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge & experience with electrical circuits, electro-mechanical construction principles

  • Experience in overseeing contractors and administering programs relating to policy, contracts & procedures

  • Knowledge of Environmental, Health & Safety measures/controls

  • Work management processes, Maximo scheduling, contractor oversight, contract management, project management

  • Financial knowledge and skills including ability to analyze data

  • 3 years previous supervisor experience

  • 5-7 years solar experience

  • Formal electrical training, NFPA70E Training, PV industry specific training

  • 3 years supervisory / contractor oversight experience

  • Experience with Battery Storage Technology.

Working Conditions
  • Field Mobility Classification - Work will be performed in various field locations, as needed, after the onboarding period. However, field employees are required to live within a reasonable daily commute to their assigned work location.

  • Travel will be 25% - 50%

  • A company vehicle will be provided for travel between field locations.

  • Performs work in an outside plant and an office environment; required to observe work in all areas of outdoor generating fields (solar and BESS) which are power plant, industrial environments operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, which includes exposure to heat, cold, noise, dust and humidity.

  • May be required to climb ladders and stairs at various heights; enter vessels or equipment with limited access; walk, stoop, bend or squat.

  • Must be able to read, comprehend, inspect, calculate, count, retain and make sound decisions.

  • Regularly required to sit, talk, hear, use and reach with hands, arms and fingers.

  • There is potential exposure to high stress situations and requirement to be available for emergency response as required by the needs of service.
