POSITION SUMMARY

The Stratton Winter Sports Club Freestyle/Freeski/Allegro Coach will provide the highest level of modern Freestyle/Freeski coaching to prepare athletes for all levels of competition. Coaches should have strong communication skills, foster positive relationships with parents and athletes, and make quick, effective decisions to ensure safe and best-practice coaching. Along with on-hill management of athletes, coaches will assist with building and maintaining training and event venues. The starting wage for this role is $20.00/hour, increases with certifications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Execute a comprehensive in-season programming plan put forth by the Program Manager
  • Recognize industry trends and advancements and incorporate these methods into seasonal goals and daily training plans
  • Maintain positive dynamic communication plan to effectively inform all constituents of training schedules, critical program updates, specific event details, expanded training opportunities, program policies and philosophies
  • Understand and uphold concepts for growth opportunity and program improvements to include expanded programming, camps, social activities that promote a year-round connection
  • Maintain excellent guest and employee rapport and ensure customer satisfaction remains at the highest level possible
  • Develop strategies to expand insight into who your customers are and what they are looking for while maintaining strong relationships with them
  • Attend daily meetings as required and be able to step in as back up into any part of the daily operations
  • Maintain appropriate asset protection and inventory control
  • Prepare venues as needed for training and competitions
  • Supervise training venues to ensure safety while athletes are training and that only authorized individuals are with-in venue boundaries
  • Participate on working groups when asked, as they pertain to the interests of the program
  • Maintain the highest safety standards and code compliance for guests and staff daily
  • Additional duties as assigned


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education:
  • High School Diploma, or equivalent, in progress or completed, required


Experience:
  • Previous experience participating in and coaching within their respective discipline at a state/local event, required
  • Previous experience maintaining venues in accordance with criteria set by US Ski & Snowboard and/or USASA, required


QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS
  • US Ski & Snowboard and/or USASA membership, required
  • Knowledge and understanding of US Ski & Snowboard and/or USASA rules and regulations, required
  • Familiar with event travel and should be prepared to travel as needed
  • Current Safesport, CPR and First Aid and CDC Heads Up Concussion, required
  • Additional industry certifications or endorsements would be strongly considered
  • Effective communication skills.


TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Regular event travel may be required. Reimbursement is given for authorized travel expenses.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

This position requires work on select evenings and all weekends and holidays during the winter season.
