Your Job

Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Regional IT Support Technician to provide hands-on infrastructure and technology support across 100+ manufacturing facilities in North America. This role is part of the Manufacturing IT Plant team, supporting our Building Products, Corrugated, Warehouse, and Wood & Fiber operations. GP is a global leader in building products and consumer goods.

What You Will Do

Technical Support & Infrastructure

  • Support virtual Windows/Linux servers, storage devices, networking (wired/wireless), firewalls, and end-user computing.
  • Maintain cybersecurity standards, including antivirus, patching, and compliance.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance to reduce downtime.

Site Engagement & Coordination

  • Serve as the primary technical contact for sites in your region.
  • Conduct regular site visits and maintain strong relationships with local teams.
  • Coordinate IT components of site projects (e.g., new stations, drops, user setups).

Operational Technology (OT) & Process Control

  • Support process control networks, thin/thick clients, and application servers.
  • Assist with IT tasks related to industrial automation and controls.

Communication & Collaboration

  • Maintain clear communication with stakeholders on IT activities and timelines.
  • Collaborate with enterprise IT teams to ensure seamless integration and support.
  • Work independently or collaboratively within a team environment to achieve goals and deliver value.

Project Execution & Innovation

  • Participate in the execution of modernized IT and OT concepts, contributing to innovation and continuous improvement across manufacturing sites.

Travel & Availability

  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation.
  • Travel 50-75% domestically and internationally to support manufacturing sites.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • 3-5 years of experience in IT infrastructure, system administration, or IT/OT support.
  • Hands-on experience with technologies such as VMware, Windows Server/Desktop, Active Directory, networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), and cybersecurity.
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow or similar ITSM platforms.
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and work in industrial environments.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Certifications: Cisco (CCNA/CCNP), CompTIA Network+, Microsoft (MCP/MCSE).
  • Experience with manufacturing networks, PLCs, HMIs, and industrial automation.
  • Scripting experience (e.g., PowerShell) and advanced Windows tools (e.g., Sysinternals).
  • Exposure to AGVs and process control systems.
