Moog Industrial Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supplier Quality Engineer to join our quality assurance team. You will oversee supplier quality performance, ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards, and drive continuous improvement in the supplier base. You will report to the Manager, Quality Assurance in East Aurora, New York. As a Supplier Quality Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
Develop, implement, and maintain supplier quality assurance processes and standards. Evaluate and qualify new suppliers through rigorous quality assessments and audits. Conduct regular supplier audits to ensure compliance with agreed quality standards and regulatory requirements. Investigate and resolve supplier-related quality issues, including non-conformances and corrective actions. Collaborate with suppliers to drive continuous improvement initiatives and enhance product quality. Review and approve supplier quality documentation including inspection plans, control plans, and Certificates of Conformance. Monitor supplier performance metrics and report findings to internal stakeholders. Support supplier quality aspects of new product introductions and changes in manufacturing processes. Work cross-functionally with procurement, engineering, and manufacturing to ensure supplier quality requirements are met. Use quality tools such as APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and root cause analysis methodologies to resolve quality issues.
To be considered for the Supplier Quality Engineer, here's what you'll need to bring with you:
Bachelor's degree in Technical Discipline, Engineering, Quality Management, or related field. Minimum five (5) years of experience in supplier quality engineering or related quality roles. Travel - Approximately 40% (Domestic and/or International) Proficient with problem solving and quality improvement tool and techniques (5-why, Ishikawa, RCCA, 8D, DMAIC etc). Experienced in APQP/PPAP. Experience conducting supplier audits and managing supplier corrective actions. Excellent communication, negotiation, and project management skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of quality standards such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or AS9100 is preferred.
