For a limited time MaineHealth is offering up to $10,000 Sign on bonus for all eligible experienced Registered Nurses with 0-2 years of experience and $20,000 for experienced Registered Nurses with greater than 2 years of experience!

The Cancer Care Center at Coastal Healthcare Alliance (CHA) which is comprised of Pen Bay Hospital and Waldo Hospital offers a comprehensive range of services for cancer patients, including treatment, support, detection, diagnosis, education, and counseling. By providing these services, the center aims to deliver high-quality and up-to-date cancer care while ensuring that patients can receive treatment close to their homes.

Having on-site, board-certified hematologist/oncologists and oncology certified nurse practitioners is an important aspect of the center's staffing. Our healthcare professionals possess specialized knowledge and training in cancer care, which allows them to provide expert medical guidance and treatment to patients. The dedication of nurses with a special interest in cancer and oncology certification further enhances the quality of care provided.

In addition to medical professionals, the presence of an oncology certified social worker and a patient navigator highlights the center's commitment to addressing the unique needs of cancer patients. The staff play a vital role in offering emotional support, counseling, and assistance with practical matters, helping patients and their families navigate the challenges associated with a cancer diagnosis.

Summary:

The Manager of Oncology and Infusion Therapy Services exercises independent judgment in the direction, planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of nursing care provided for patients with complex illnesses requiring outpatient chemotherapy, transfusions and/or infusion therapy. This position is responsible for the day to day operations of the Oncology and Infusion Therapy Services including management of personnel, direction of patient care and management of resources. This position works effectively and collaboratively with Medical Staff, Nursing Staff, Administration, support and ancillary services personnel. Other duties may be required as delegated by the Regional Director of Oncology & Infusion Therapy.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: BSN and certification in Oncology Nursing preferred.
  2. License/Certifications: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in Maine. BCLS Certification required. OCN preferred or within 2 years of hire.
  3. Experience: Five years in acute care nursing, previous oncology nursing and previous charge experience required.
  4. Completion of a Chemotherapy Administration course required.
  5. Strong organizational skills with extensive knowledge of Oncology Nursing standards.
  6. Strong leadership and communication skills with a team orientation.
