Kaman is seeking a Sales Manager for its Measuring and Memory business. Under the leadership of the General Manager, the Sales Manager will support an aggressive business growth plan through the management of a team of Inside Sales, Customer Service, and Applications Engineering staff in addition to leading the capture effort on specific, targeted, transformational growth opportunities.



This individual will be responsible for implementing sales process improvements; maintaining, organizing, and reporting Sales KPI data; maintaining and updating Sales Department Policies and Procedures and Standard Work; maintaining and administering pricing policy and growth initiatives via our strategic Salesforce-based business management system; managing lead qualification and follow up activities; and supporting planning and forecasting activities to realize the goals of the KPP Measuring and Memory Strategic Plan. In the first 6 months in this role, the Sales Manager will also play a pivotal role in the implementation and support of a new Epicor ERP implementation and assisting with our website redesign, maintenance, and updates.



In addition, this key leader will coordinate activities, as necessary, with Engineering, Planning, Manufacturing Operations, Export Control, and Quality Assurance to provide a superior customer experience. The successful Sales Manager will evolve the Sales Department into an efficient "business growth engine", facilitating consistent revenue growth via market share gains, with gross margin expansion while influencing the organization to maintain a customer-centric mindset.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities



  • Drive new business growth and recurring revenue opportunities via the identification and penetration of programs of interest at targeted accounts in the aerospace, defense, space, semiconductor, and energy markets.
  • Ensure that all departmental roles are properly staffed, and personnel are properly cross-trained.
  • Mentor, train, and advise staff, ensuring adherence to company policy and procedures, standard work, and utilization of best practices in Sales and Customer Support.
  • Manage the working relationships with domestic Sales Representatives and International Distributors/Resellers (agreements, training, opportunity management, activity reporting, results).
  • Maintain and publish monthly Sales KPI data as directed by manager.
  • Seek out opportunities to utilize ERP and our proprietary Salesforce-based business management system to increase efficiency in information flow and accuracy.
  • Manage the price catalog: creation, implementation, and distribution. Advise the business unit on customer pricing feedback and data collected on market pricing for competitive products.
  • Partner with General Manager, as well as business segment Marketing leader, to design and implement effective plans for advertising, lead generation and follow up, trade show schedule, and the creation, maintenance, and distribution of sales literature/collateral.
  • Other duties as required.



Qualifications



Education:



  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline, or business administration, required.
  • MBA a plus.


Experience:



  • Minimum of 7 years of management experience leading a sales team in a highly technical electro-mechanical product environment. Experience in technical sales in the sensor industry is a desirable plus.
  • Experience collaborating with and influencing integrated cross-functional teams in furtherance of tactical and strategic objectives.



Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Demonstrated technical acumen in Eddy Current sensor technology, engineering, and applications is a plus.
  • Understanding of the processes and tools required to manage a highly technical sales cycle; experience with EPICOR SaaS is a major plus.
  • Strong interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to bridge organizational and functional boundaries to bring all stakeholders, internal and external, together to resolve issues.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, 10-15% of time.
