Overview

Infotech is seeking a visionary Principal ML Architect to serve as champion and technical leader across all AI/ML initiatives. In this role, you'll be a key partner to the Senior Director: of AI in building the ML function and serve as a mentor to a growing team of AI/ML engineers. You'll apply your deep expertise in a range of AI/ML technologies to build, scale, and deploy mission-critical systems with measurable business impact

What you'll do

As a Principal AI/ML Architect, you will combine deep AI/ML expertise with a strong ability to guide execution and inspire growth. Reporting to the Sr. Director: AI and partnering closely with cross-functional stakeholders, you'll be responsible for end-to-end architectural ownership, driving the entire lifecycle of major AI/ML features and platforms. You will leverage your expertise and experience in machine learning to develop mission-critical ML applications with measurable impact, transitioning projects and teams from research or prototype to production-grade systems.

In this role, you will be a key player in upskilling our engineering teams, driving the success of our AI strategy from the ground up. This is a chance to make a significant impact, not just on our products but on our entire organization. The ideal candidate has a strong track record of both individual execution and elevating their peers. You will be instrumental in developing and operationalizing new solutions, allowing you to see the results of your work rapidly and underpin the success of our AI strategy.

How you'll do it



  • Define and lead the enterprise AI and ML architecture, with a focus on rapid delivery and impactful results aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Pioneer effective ML approaches and architectures by staying ahead of emerging trends in Machine Learning, generative AI, and scalable AI infrastructure to guide rapid innovation and experimentation.
  • Serve as a technical authority and thought leader for the company's AI strategy, with an ability to apply industry experience and expertise into actionable strategic outcomes.
  • Mentor a world-class team of AI/ML engineers and researchers focused on rapid iteration and delivery.
  • Lead the end-to-end engineering of AI/ML solutions, from initial ideation and architectural planning to large-scale deployment and monitoring, ensuring designs are scalable, maintainable, and reliable at an enterprise level.
  • Oversee the efficient and reliable operationalization of models in production environments, ensuring performance at scale and minimal time-to-value. You'll focus on building a reusable, automated foundation for model training and deployment that multiple teams can leverage.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with engineering, product, and business teams to identify opportunities for AI-driven solutions and translate them into technical requirements and deployed systems, deconstructing complex business problems into manageable architectural components.
  • Communicate the technical approach, progress, and business impact of deployed AI/ML systems clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, leading to increased organizational agility and impact.
  • Establish and enforce rigorous standards for model evaluation, validation, and governance. You'll ensure model fairness, transparency, and compliance with ethical AI principles, while also quantifying business impact.


QUALIFICATIONS

PhD in computer science, machine learning, or related field and 4 years; or Master's Degree in related field and 8 years relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience; or Bachelors degree in related field and 10 years relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

We'd like you to have



  • 10+ years of experience across AI and Machine Learning.
  • Strong understanding of machine learning, natural language processing, and data science.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with strong relevant industry experience in civil and infrastructure construction or SaaS construction technology.
  • Experience contributing to industry advancements (e.g., publications, startup participation or consultation, patents, industry recognition).
  • Experience transitioning projects and teams from research/prototype to production-grade systems.
  • History of pioneering effective ML approaches or architectures.
  • Experience hiring, developing, and mentoring ML talent to senior levels.
  • Proven ability to build and deploy ML systems at scale, supporting 10,000+ users/devices.
  • Track record of developing mission-critical ML applications with measurable business impact.
  • Involvement in AI/ML community through speaking, teaching, or open source
