Job Description

Provides leadership and oversees day-to-day operations within the shipping and receiving department. Ensures efficiency and productivity levels by training and motivating shipping and receiving department employees in order to meet customer requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervises day-to-day operations of the shipping and receiving department to include counting, weighing and identifying items going in and out of the facility.
  • Informs Manufacturing Manager of any problems with materials or equipment to be shipped or have been received.
  • Administers training programs to ensure materials and equipment are shipped and received properly.
  • Partners and collaborates with Customer Service Representatives and other teams in the manufacturing process to ensure client products are properly packaged and shipped expeditiously.
  • Promotes safe working conditions through housekeeping and ensures proper safety practices are followed.
  • Plans, assigns and reviews work of staff to ensure that group objectives are met. Hires, trains, develops and manages staff to meet group objectives.
  • Performs other duties and participates in special projects as assigned.

  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to learn new computer software as needed
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Associate's degree in business preferred
  • Prior leadership experience desired
  • Knowledge of inventory systems, warehouse management, postal regulations or traffic laws is a plus
