The position at UW Madison- Nicholas Hall (School of Human Ecology Building) - Robin's Nest involves independently managing the daily operations of a small coffee shop, including preparing and serving beverages, operating the register, and maintaining inventory levels. The role requires a strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices to ensure a clean and welcoming environment. Excellent customer service skills are essential to create a friendly and positive experience for all patrons.

Schedule for position is: 7:30am - 3pm Monday - Thursday: Schedule may vary based on department needs.

Key Job Responsibilities:
  • Cleans, inspects, and maintains kitchen equipment and work areas
  • Greets customers, answers questions, and provides basic information regarding food preparation and associated activities
  • Performs routine food preparation activities such as portioning, chopping food, and serving food to customers
  • Adheres to federal, state, and local food safety regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Prepares a variety of basic dishes such as sandwiches and salads, and assists in the preparation of more complex dishes
  • Assists and guides student workers
