Tank Operator Temp to Hire 2nd Shift

Working closely with Sr. Tank Operator, conducts the chemical milling functions by racking, repairing parts, verifying thickness, dimensions and calculating etch rates by performing the following duties.

Job Summary

  • Reads work orders/traveler instructions and shop sketches for job orders.
  • Verify thickness and dimension of parts by use of various tools such as micrometer, depth gages and ultrasonic equipment.
  • Calculates etch rates.
  • Check parts for chem mill defects and follows SOP for corrections.
  • Racks parts by SOP and makes basic maskant repairs by following scribe SOP.
  • Assists lead and senior operators.
  • Uses hoist, crane, carts to move parts.
  • Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their work area.
  • Performs other duties as assigned including leading projects and participation in project
    committees.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, work orders, traveler instructions and shop sketches.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to calculate etch rates.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to operate a hoist and crane.
  • Ability to use power tools such as drills saws and wrenches.

Required Experience and Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 - 3 years' experience preferred.
