What you'll be doing...

As a Logistics Services Consultant, you will provide guidance of the operational area(s) within a 3PL (third party logistics) distribution center of over 600,000 square feet. You will provide leadership to ensure efficient 3PL distribution operations and adherence to policies, procedures, and process excellence. You will also partner with the 3PL to determine processes to improve supply chain efficiencies throughout the building. The environment is fast paced and will change on a regular basis. Other responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Optimizing pick/pack operations for small parcel, FTL, and LTL shipments with outbound transportation partners.

  • Optimizing turnaround time for clean and screened equipment.

  • Ensuring the protection and accuracy of inventory by adhering to all inventory control processes and procedures.

  • Ensuring accuracy of outbound shipments.

  • Ensuring accuracy of inventory within the DC.

  • Promoting a culture of safety awareness and compliance of all EHS policies and procedures.

  • Leading supply chain projects to continually improve the business performance, customer experience, and/or reduce expenses.

  • Acting as a subject matter expert regarding distribution center operations.

  • Promoting a culture of customer centric operation, timely feedback to issues with solutions.

  • Demonstrating experience in KPI/SLA's creation and obtainment.

  • Driving Operational/financial discipline.

What we're looking for...

You are a process person and you like when things run smoothly---but when they don't, you'll calmly find a good solution and then re-engineer the process to improve it for next time. You're always on the lookout for ways to maximize productivity, while ensuring customers' expectations are exceeded. No balls drop on your watch as you juggle lots of different priorities because you keep track of all the details. You work well with lots of different kinds of people and know how to flex your style to suit the situation. You operate as a strategic partner with logistics, supply chain management, sales, and 3PLs in establishing and adhering to operating metrics.

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Four or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through work experience and/or military experience.

  • Experience in large scale operations and distribution management.

  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related discipline.

  • Experience in a high volume distribution center of five hundred thousand square feet or larger.

  • Experience managing a 3rd Party Logistics Provider.

  • Experience with various WMS.

  • OEM (original equipment manufacturer) management experience.

  • Experience in materials management, i.e., inventory management.

  • Import/ export experience in supply chain function.

  • Exposure to Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies.

  • Project management experience.

  • Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Strong organization and attention to detail.
