Position SummaryThe Division of Physical Therapy at the Health Sciences Center School of Medicine Campus has a temporary part time faculty position available to assist the instructor in teaching the first year and third Musculoskeletal Block. This block focuses on kinesiological underpinnings, principles and techniques of orthopaedic evaluation, and treatment of orthopaedic conditions. All areas of the body are addressed in a regional approach with basic treatment interventions included. Manual therapy including manipulation is also incorporated. The class will average 8-9 hours per week August to December. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: 4 or more years' experience as a physical therapist; At least 3 years' experience in an outpatient orthopaedic environment utilizing advanced orthopedic techniques; Current NM PT license required. Preferred Qualifications: More than 4 years' experience in an outpatient orthopaedic environment utilizing advanced orthopedic techniques; Evidence of continuing education in orthopaedic assessment, OCS or SCS specialization, orthopaedic residency; Advanced degree - DPT, PhD A demonstrated commitment to cultivate an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico and to the success of the university's mission to serve local and global communities.
