Position Summary

The College of Population Health (COPH) is an active force in UNM's larger mission to improve healthcare delivery, access, and equality for all people. Through our rigorous research efforts, Bachelor of Science in Population Health, Master of Public Health, PhD in Health Equity Sciences and other programs, we are agents of change in New Mexico and beyond. It serves New Mexico's communities, government and non-profit agencies, businesses and health-related organizations. The COPH and Health Sciences Center have deep connections to our diverse Native, Latino/Hispanic and African American communities, with missions to improve the health and health equity of low-income, underrepresented minority, and other vulnerable populations.

The COPH is seeking an experienced Marketing Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable in developing and implementing integrated marketing campaigns and passionate about using marketing to advance public health, education, and research. The primary responsibility of this role is to support the marketing of student recruitment, education, applied research, service and community partnerships of the college within and outside of New Mexico.

The Marketing Manager oversees marketing and public relations/outreach activities for the college, including communications through media outlets, website, email, social media, digital advertising, and print. The role also supervises part-time student employees and manages content creation for internal and external audiences.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with HSC and COPH leadership to design and implement marketing campaigns that supports student recruitment, education, applied research, service and community partnerships.
  • Provide leadership and direction in the development, implementation, and monitoring of the strategic marketing plan for the COPH.
  • Design, write, and produce digital and print promotional materials for the College, this includes: webpages, brochures, flyers, posters, and annual reports while ensuring UNM brand compliance.
  • Plan, execute, and evaluate digital advertising campaigns (Google Ads, Meta), including audience targeting, KPIs, budgets, and reporting.
  • Develop, design, and distribute monthly COPH email newsletter communications.
  • Provide communication and marketing support for promotion of events such as open houses, fundraisers, outreach and community events, press conferences, and education and research-related events.
  • Manage and maintain the COPH website content, updates, and search engine optimization (SEO).
  • Manage and maintain social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn), including content calendars, engagement, and analytics for reports.
  • Design, develop and disseminate promotional materials, event branding, and ensure compliance with UNM branding standards.
  • Design, develop and disseminate articles for the COPH Newsroom, in collaboration with HSC Communications.
  • Develop and manage annual marketing budget for the COPH, monitoring expenditures. prepare summary assessments and reports.
  • Serve as public information contact in coordination with the HSC Public Information Office and COPH Dean and maintain communications with other University constituencies.
  • Conduct market research and data analysis to improve the College's marketing and recruitment efforts.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience.
