Role Overview

As a Residential Case Goods Engineer I, you'll be responsible for engineering and releasing product details across dining, bedroom, occasional, outdoor furniture, and more. You'll work closely with designers, merchants, and production teams to bring concepts to life-from prototypes to production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engineer and release product details for prototypes, samples, and production
  • Collaborate with freelance and in-house designers
  • Review prototypes and revise drawings to ensure accuracy
  • Maintain a detail library and ensure consistency across samples
  • Research new materials and construction methods
  • Support market launches with documentation and product reviews
  • Communicate with purchasing, sample shop, and customer service teams
  • Attend development meetings and manage multiple projects simultaneously


Collaboration

You'll report to the Product Development Director - Case Goods and work closely with:

  • Merchandising and Engineering teams
  • Sample shop managers
  • Purchasing department
  • Customer service representatives


Qualifications

  • This is an entry-level position, ideal for recent graduates or individuals beginning their career in furniture engineering
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to product safety and brand standards
  • Passion for furniture design and engineering
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks
  • Preferred: Prior experience or knowledge of the furniture industry, including materials, construction methods, and production processes
