Network Health's success is rooted in its mission to create healthy and strong Wisconsin communities. Network Health is seeking a Paralegal & Contract Specialist to join our Legal team.

This position will identify legal and regulatory risk issues, manage the legal mailbox and incoming mail, prepare and review documents and reports including contracts, communications, policies, and position statements, as assigned.

The Paralegal & Contract Specialist is a key component of the contracting process and is responsible for helping business owners navigate the process from start to finish. This includes: helping business owners find the correct contract document to use (e.g. MSA, BAA, SOW), routing documents to the Assistant General Counsel or their designee for review, returning redlines back to the business owner, preparing documents for final legal review, and storing executed contract in Network Health's contract management system.

The Paralegal & Contract Specialist will work with a variety of cross- functional teams within the organization and will actively support building relationships with clinical operations and support services alike.

Location: Candidates must reside in the state of Wisconsin for consideration. This position is eligible to work at your home office (reliable internet is required), at our office in Brookfield or Menasha, or a combination of both in our hybrid workplace model.

Hours: 1.0 FTE, 40 hours per week, 8am-5pm Monday through Friday.

Job Responsibilities:



  • Support the contract management process, including but not limited to:

    • Helping business owners determine if a potential vendor is a Delegated Entity, in accordance with CMS rules and company resources.
    • Preparing drafts of non-complex contracts and amendments, as requested, and based on template provisions and other specific direction.
    • Assisting business owner with navigating the contracting process.
    • Reviewing non-complex contracts, based on specific parameters.
    • Coordinating and complete Business Associate Agreements (from templates).
    • Scheduling contracts needing review for the Assistant General Counsel.
    • Managing the contract management system.


  • Maintain organization governance documents related to bylaws and operating agreements for all Boards of Directors governing Network Health, Inc. and its associated organizations
  • Manage incoming mail and electronic correspondence and direct legal documents to appropriate areas (e.g. subrogation, bankruptcy, PHI release documents, etc.).
  • Manage corporate insurance renewal applications.
  • Manage certain outside counsel relationships, including class action recovery opportunities.
  • Manage the subpoena response data gathering and coordination, including assurance of appropriate authorizations and/or court orders.
  • Oversee and facilitate patient bankruptcy/lien responses.
  • Coordinate and prepare drafts of policy updates for Legal policies.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with key client contacts, plan operations and other support services departments.


Job Requirements:



  • Associate degree in paralegal studies or related program required
  • Three years' experience in a legal assistant, paralegal or compliance driven role required
  • State Bar of Wisconsin Paralegal Certification required
  • Knowledge of contracting processes and methods
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to positively influence contract administration
  • Ability to communicate with high level management and operational personnel in a highly professional manner, both verbally and in writing.
