Pivotal Health Solutions is seeking a part-time Powder Prep Operator to join our team in Watertown, SD. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing parts for the powder coating process. This includes cleaning, masking, plugging, sanding, or blasting parts to ensure optimal adhesion and finish quality. The operator ensures parts meet quality standards before entering the coating booth or line. Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Clean metal parts using solvents, detergents, or equipment (e.g., pressure washer, degreaser) to remove oils, dust, and residues.
- Sand, blast, or scuff parts to create proper surface texture for powder coating adhesion.
- Apply masking and plugs to areas that must remain uncoated.
- Inspect parts for cleanliness, surface condition, and correct preparation.
- Identify and report defects or quality concerns to the supervisor.
- Organize and stage parts for the hanging or coating process.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Assist with general production duties as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in powder coating, metal prep, or general manufacturing preferred.
- Ability to use hand tools, masking materials, and prep equipment safely.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and consistency.
- Physically able to stand, bend, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Willingness to work overtime or different shifts as needed
