Essential Job Duties |
The successful candidate will serve as the Head Athletic Trainer in the Department of Athletics for Men's Basketball and/or assigned sport(s) by the Associate Athletics Director for Sports Medicine. They will serve as a member of the Sports Medicine Senior Staff to assist in the coordination and operation of the Sports Medicine Department. Primary responsibilities include providing and ensuring care is delivered to our student-athletes as part of the interdisciplinary Pack Performance Tam. This includes, but is not limited to, emergency care, injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation under the supervision of the team physician.
Other duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting in the operating of the Sports Medicine Department
- Ensuring proper use of equipment and facilities by student-athletes
- Working with the athletic training staff and the Team Physician(s)
- Maintaining medical records on student-athletes to include physical examinations, insurance information, and injury evaluation reports
- Attending scheduled team practices and events, including traveling with assigned team(s)
- Providing emergency care when indicated, referring to associated healthcare professionals when necessary
- Assisting with maintenance of athletic training room equipment and assisting with annual physical examinations and drug testing program
- Assisting with preparation of budget requests and managing inventory of supplies for training room operations
- Interfacing with coaches regarding injured student-athletes
- Following the NATA Code of Ethics
- Remaining current on all state and national requirements for license renewal
- Complying with all University, ACC, and NCAA bylaws and legislation

- Performing other duties as requested by the Associate Athletics Director for Sports Medicine and/or designee.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution
- Minimum of three (3) years experience working with Division 1 or Professional athletic program
|
Other Required Qualifications |
- Must be eligible for NC Board of Athletic Training license
- Computer competency
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 30 pounds frequently and up to 60 pounds occasionally, with or without reasonable accommodation

Preferred Qualifications |
- Master's degree preferred
- Prior experience with Men's Basketball program
- Experience with athlete monitoring technology
- Experience or interest in utilizing health and performance data
|

NATABOC Certification- A valid Driver's License is required prior to start and must be maintained as a condition of employment.
