The successful applicant will be expected to take part in curriculum development and management of the facility and programs. - Develop a nationally recognized applied research program focused on the biology, ecology, and sustainable management of peridomestic, structural, and household pests.
- Conduct field and laboratory trials to assess the efficacy of pest control products, strategies, and integrated pest management (IPM) approaches.
- Secure extramural funding through competitive grants, industry contracts, and public-private partnerships to support research and Extension activities.
- Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and communicate results at scientific and industry-focused conferences.
- *Collaborate with faculty in entomology and across disciplines to pursue multidisciplinary approaches to peridomestic and structural pest challenges.
Teaching (15%)
- Teach and contribute to courses within the undergraduate or Agricultural Institute related to urban entomology, structural pest management, or IPM.
- Support student learning through experiential and problem-based instruction that connects classroom content to real-world applications in pest management.
- Mentor graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and interns, and support the academic success of undergraduate and Agricultural Institute students through research opportunities and training.
