Psychiatrist - Long-Term Structured Residence (LTSR) 20hrs/wk - Philadelphia, PA

• Current Licensure/certification, (MD or DO) as required, to practice as a psychiatrist in the State of Pennsylvania.
• Board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or an equivalent certifying Board.
• Able to demonstrate previous experience and/or training with the mental health population.
• Possesses or is able to obtain all necessary clearances and background checks to work with designated consumers.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Position Details:

The direct patient care component to this role involves provision of psychiatric care to clients in various settings including home, clinic, and crisis support units. The position will also provide clinical supervision to home-visiting nurse practitioners, physician assistants and nurses managing members with complex psychiatric, cognitive and behavioral health needs, as part of an interprofessional team. This position will engage in care plan development, regular consultation and case review, and occasionally assuming full provider responsibilities for members with complex needs. Additionally, the Medical Director will participate in out-of-hours on-call duties as well as being available to telephonically to triage calls and discuss cases with other clinicians on the care team. The psychiatrist will:

• Provide individual medication orders, prescriptions, psychiatric evaluations and symptom management, ensuring that immediate changes to treatment are made as necessary.
• Provide supervision and direction to registered nurses or certified nurse practitioners regarding prescriptions, orders, lab orders or medication side effects/interactions.
• Acts as a liaison and consult with hospitals, community agencies, and families to maintain coordination through the treatment process.
• Complete comprehensive psychiatric evaluation of each individual on the team that captures psychiatric history, risk assessment, functional assessment, and recommendations.
• Develop, coordinate, and provide psychiatric treatment, and rehabilitation for adults with mental illness.
• Provide on-call consultation to the team after hours associated with symptom management and psychiatric condition
