$19-$22/hr 2nd 2pm - 12pm Ashwaubenon, WI Job Category: Manufacturing Job Details: The Saw Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining band saws and other cutting equipment to cut raw material (steel, aluminum, and other metals) to required specifications for downstream machining operations. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to read and interpret work orders, blueprints, or cut lists. Key Responsibilities Set up and operate saws to cut raw materials (bars, tubing, plate, and structural steel) to specified dimensions. Accurately measure and mark materials prior to cutting. Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and cut lists to determine dimensions and tolerances. Verify accuracy of cuts using measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, and squares. Maintain equipment by performing routine inspections and reporting malfunctions. Organize and stage cut material for machining and fabrication departments. Follow all shop safety policies and wear required PPE. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Perform all other duties as assigned to support production needs. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. 1+ years of experience operating a saw in a machine shop or manufacturing environment preferred. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work orders. Proficient in the use of measuring tools (tape measure, calipers, micrometers, etc.). Mechanical aptitude and basic math skills. Forklift operation experience a plus. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs regularly. Stand, walk, bend, and handle materials throughout an 8-10 hour shift. Comfortable working in a shop environment with noise, vibration, and varying temperatures.
