PAY RANGE

The base pay for this Job Family generally ranges between $19 - $22/hr. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.

General Summary

Assist in the finishing, assembly and packaging of products. Operate manufacturing equipment to produce component parts. Set up equipment as necessary. Might make minor adjustments to equipment in order to maintain production and quality standards. Notify the Operations Supervisor of any occurrences that negatively impact production. Adhere to safety, health, and environmental guidelines.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Set up and operate equipment to assist in the assembly of products. This includes trimming, welding, cutting, coating, heating, counting and packaging.
  • Check equipment and tool settings against specifications before operation, making adjustments when necessary.
  • Document work completed using the appropriate procedures.
  • Monitor inventory and alert Operations Supervisor when supplies are running low.
  • Follow safety procedures and DRIV's safety policy at all times. Notify the Operations Supervisor of unsafe or hazardous working conditions immediately.
  • Manufacture, pick, and inspect products for compliance against acceptance criteria.
  • Report issues or problems with production, quality, and safety to immediate supervisor or Coach
  • 5S Housekeeping and work area cleaning tasks.
  • Precisely follow instructions as outlined on the press card, standard work or work instructions.
  • Other tasks and assignments consistent with knowledge and training.



Job Requirements:

Education:

Successful completion of high school highly preferred but not required.

Skill Requirements:

Associate Level



  • Ability to read, write and run simple mathematic calculations.
  • Manual dexterity.
  • Ability to use computer and basic keyboarding.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with coworkers.
  • Proficient with tools and equipment needed to perform job duties.
  • Typically, entry level - 1 year of experience.


Core Level



  • Associate Skills plus:
  • Work involves complex tools and equipment or intricate assembly processes.
  • Ability to work with very precise requirements and measurements.
  • Typically, 1 - 3 years of experience.


Senior Level



  • Associate & Core Skills plus:
  • Inspect parts and identify those having quality issues.
  • Assist in resolving production problems in the work unit.
  • Typically, 3+ years of experience.


Note: Experience for each level will vary somewhat and depends on Apprenticeship requirements for the sub-categories requiring such training.

Addendum: Specifics for Area Worked

FPD Team Member/DC Team Member I & II



  • FPDTM1 does picking of specific items and quantities, from all assigned and/or designated areas in warehouse, to fill orders. Drop those picked items to the correct divert.
  • Utilize an RF scanner to pick and pack orders, reading the information disseminated on the hand-held screen.
  • Navigate the various technological tools to process picks, rectify errors, pack and research the travel path of any pick and/or pack in the shipping process.
  • Update weights and dimensions of every pallet/box made into the WM. Deconsolidate combined orders to their specific divert using WM.
  • Housekeeping tasks can include, but are not limited to: Collect and break down corrugated, gather and place pallets in specifically designated area, collect and dispose of garbage receptacles, sweep, cut plastic wrap and discard in proper receptacles.



Weld Cell



  • Accountable for operation of the single and multi-head welders in d859.
  • Responsibilities include but are not limited: Equipment set up and operations; part quality, inspection, and packaging.
  • Identification of and the ability to react to safety, process material, quality and equipment issues



Coater Operator



  • Mix coating compounds
  • Understand the workings and condition of coaters, hoses, pumps, etc.
  • Roller adjustments.
  • Conveyor and equipment alignment.
  • Ability to read and understand press card.



Rubber Molder



  • Operate a range of molding presses and machinery for the production of rubber molded sealing products within the assigned value stream.
  • Manufacture and inspect products for compliance against acceptance criteria.



PKG Team Member 1/Bagger



  • Start assembly and production machinery at beginning of shift.
  • Address problems with production equipment and machinery.
  • Assemble product parts by hand according to the Bill of Materials.
  • Observe and remove faulty product parts from assembly line.
  • Pack up completed products and prepare them for shipment.
  • Unload, organize, and stock returned parts.
  • Ensure that all production deadlines are met.
  • Report issues or problems with production to immediate supervisor or Coach.
  • Preform bar code scan verification when necessary.
  • Load bag settings into bagging machine to perform assembly function.
  • Perform plastic bag change over.



PKG Team Member II



  • Identify and report any quality issue with labels and components once assembled, keeping track of any rejects.
  • Read and understand BOM move ticket specification.
  • Keep track of production quantity per BOM and record it on hour by hour board.
  • Pull, lift and transport components to and from other location using a cart or hand jack.
  • Operate a computer for production reporting (Move Ticket) using Move7 and Oracle programs.
  • Perform bag change over on the bagging machines.
  • Set the bagging machine parameters.
  • Perform 1st Article.



PKG Team Member III



  • Identify and report any quality issue with labels and components.
  • Prep job on time and prevent down time.
  • Assist Inspector in creating 1st article.
  • Read and understand BOM, place components as needed in the work area.
  • Adjust bagging machine and trouble shoot issues accordingly to prevent rework.
  • Unload, organize, and stock returned parts.
  • Identify different size, shape, texture of parts.
  • Pull, lift and transport parts to and from other location using a cart or hand jack.
  • Operate a computer for production reporting using Move7 and Oracle program.



Cycle Counter



  • Perform counts and ensure all inventory is accounted for and reported according to company policy.
  • Investigate and correct discrepancies in reported quantities and locations of all inventory.
  • Maintain strict cycle count records according to company policy.
  • Notify management of large inventory discrepancies which could impact product availability.



Bihler Operator



  • Set-up, trouble-shoot, and quality review.
  • Make different lengths and thickness of copper wire for different parts.
  • Ensure the quality of wires meets the demand of our customers.
  • Trouble-shoot to try and figure out why the wire is flawed at times.



LP Cut to Length Operator



  • Equipment cleaning.
  • Material feeding/material alignment.



Automatic Perforator Operators



  • Machine setup and configuration.
  • Material alignment/coil alignment/ hole pattern, tang height and registration/material bond.
  • Troubleshooting.



PKG Assembler



  • Reach, grab and fold rubber gasket by hand at a fast pace.
  • Report any quality issue with labels and components.
  • Assist Inspector in setting up film wrap on machine and adjust to size.
  • Assemble sets according to BOM specification.
  • Identify and build correct sets per 1st article.
  • Unload, organize, and stock returned parts.



Manifold Assembly



  • Accountable for the d848 clock assembly system multi-layered manifold gasket manufacturing processes.
  • Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Equipment set up and operation, part quality, inspection, packaging.
  • Identification of and the ability to react to safety, process, material, quality, and equipment issues.



LP Turret Press Operator



  • Set up, trouble-shoot and operate the Turret press.
  • Read Turret programs and load them in the press to make the parts.
  • Certified or has the ability to be certified to do 1st article checks.
  • Read and understand the instructions on a press card.
  • Recognize and react to unsafe behaviors and conditions.



HRAF Operator



  • Machine setup and configuration.
  • Material alignment.
  • Coil alignment.
  • Recipe and machine settings.
  • Material bond.
  • Troubleshooting.



Oven Team Member



  • Feed parts correctly.
  • Catch parts.
  • Identify defective parts.
  • Read and understand press card instructions.
  • Machine cleanup.
  • Setup POS jobs on multiple machines.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve part issues.
  • Make cutouts for sheets.
  • Make silicone by color/cure.



Oven Attendant



  • Inspect products for compliance against acceptance criteria, moving goods in and out of the post-cure ovens, packaging, and performing shipping duties.
  • Visual inspection of molded parts for physical defects, machine, package finished goods.
  • Move goods in/out of post-cure ovens.
  • Complete scrap forms.
  • Transport parts, products, and materials by using utility cart or using a hand pallet jack.
  • Load/Unload gaskets from post-cure racks.



POS Cell

Operate the printers and Thompson Press. If the registration is not correct on the material it creates a lot of scrap.

LP Head Gasket Assembly



  • Set-Up Press - Change closing tools.


  • Pre-Close Tools - Remove previous job tool and install incoming job tool.
  • Size Wires - Re size wires by removing and setting new mandrels.
  • Assemble Gaskets - Using bodies, armors, wires, eyelets, grommets.
  • Quality - Inspect gasket for release (make sure that the parts are correct.)



Ultrasonic Knife Cutter



  • Setup and operate ultrasonic knife cutter by performing computer functions.
  • Load material onto cutting table, set up x-y cutting table, upload program, start up and run software program and keep work table and area clean and free of cutting residue. Must be able to properly nest parts so to maximize on the material being loaded.
  • Perform 1st articles and final audits on manufactured parts.
  • Follow the Quality Management System requirements as outlined in the process notes on the press card, the applicable QMS procedure and work instructions; and suggests ways for continual improvement.
  • Promptly report quality problems and shut down the equipment if unable to resolve



D866 Cell Team Member



  • Manually install wire rings, armors, eyelets, and grommets into the bodies of various types of head gaskets.
  • Close, coin or flatten parts in single stroke press.
  • Set up Wire Ring Sizers, Pre-closing presses, Gluing machine, and Eyeleter.
  • Pre stage components at the work stations and transport tooling to and from the Tool Room.
