Acara Solutions seeks highly qualified candidates to work onsite for our client in DFW Airport, TX. Interested?

Here's what you'd do:

  • Client is looking for a self-motivated individual to become a part of our client's Customer Service Installation Team.
  • The Field Service Technician is responsible for preventative maintenance, commissioning, service, installation, software loading and network configuration, customer care & training, and quality control.
  • The Field Service Technician shall also be responsible for conducting daily site and equipment safety checks, performing a Job Hazard Analysis, and providing a daily status report to Management.
  • The work will be mostly mechanical and electrical in nature, related to IT equipment installation, thin clients, monitors, switches, software/network configuration/upgrades, trial runs, investigative tests, repairs, and overhauls.
  • Powering up all equipment, commissioning, and calibrating cameras.
  • Interact with customers on a professional basis, communicating with customers regarding service and product issues.
  • Meet the client quality standards for a professional installation and a clean work area.
  • Understand issues and communicate them to others by means of drawings, photos, and reports.
  • Provide remote support via phone calls and emails to other Field Service Engineers, management, engineering, and the client as needed.
  • Install and commission the client equipment and provide training to the end user where applicable.
  • Promote the company's service and parts programs and identify additional customer care opportunities.
  • Adhere to internal processes and implementation of field service systems to improve the efficiency and department organization.
  • Troubleshoots installation issues as requested by the client, Management, and Engineering.
  • Enhance the company's competitive position in the closing systems market.
  • Assist the company in maintaining and improving relationships with key accounts.
  • Demonstrate professional-level skills to positively motivate, overcome barriers, and act as a champion/change agent for continuous organizational improvement.
  • Perform other duties as needed to support project installation and management.

Here's what you'll get:

Pay: $29.00 - $32.00 / hr

Hours: 40 hrs / Week

Length: Temporary (12+ months)

Job Requirements

Required Skills:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in IT and sortation equipment installation and maintenance in an industrial environment.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical, electronics, IT system upgrades, or a similar technical nature with a focus on material handling systems.
  • Minimum 5 years of mechanical, electrical, and systems experience.
  • Ability to travel up to 90%, at a minimum to customers facilities to install, diagnose, commission and repair equipment, include weekend and overnight work as needed per the customer's production schedule.

Preferred Skills:

  • The ability to read blueprints and mechanical/electrical drawings.
  • Ability to Baseline old equipment against the test deck and record results, confirming the run-on computer to see how many were read and sorted.
  • Ability to troubleshoot PLCs
  • Ability to remove and install new IT equipment, such as computers, cameras, and run ethernet cables-this is the most time-consuming part of the job, requiring around 16-20 cables to be run.
  • Technical aptitude, in both mechanical & electrical areas, with installation & controls theory understanding.
  • Ability to read and understand technical documentation, drawings, and schematics.
  • Results-oriented, self-confident, self-motivated, takes initiative, persistent
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to develop and maintain effective customer relationships and collaborative business relationships.
  • Natural customer-centric orientation
  • Presentation skills: persuasive written and verbal communication
  • Computer skills: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Additional Information:

  • Upon offer of employment, the individual will be subject to a background check and a drug screen.
  • In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be needed to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the necessary employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
  • Will need to be able to crawl under the machine, go in the maintenance alley, and run them through the trough, then plug.
