Acara Solutions seeks highly qualified candidates to work Onsite with our client in Alpharetta, GA. Interested?

Here's what you'd do:

  • Gear technicians are responsible for the assembly of a gear to include operating production equipment, disassembly, cleaning of parts and assembling components according to drawings and guidelines to ensure product specifications and quality standards are met.
  • Gear technicians may need to work directly with supervisor or engineers to resolve any production issues.
  • Attach gearbox housing and couplings to build stand.
  • Install gears, bearings, housings, spacers, covers, and various fasteners.
  • Measure clearances using precision instruments (depth gauge, caliper, micrometer).
  • Demount gearbox from build stand.
  • Inspect, test, and adjust units to meet specifications and customer requirements.
  • Assemble position, align, and fasten parts to assemblies or frames; disassemble as needed.
  • Attach name plates and mark identifying information.
  • Measure parts for tolerances and inspect for defects using precision instruments.
  • Align, fit, or assemble components using hand or power tools.
  • Verify part dimensions and clearances.
  • Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and work orders.
  • Explain assembly procedures to other workers.
  • Clean work areas and parts; inventory tools.
  • Drill or tap holes in specified locations.
  • Confer with supervisors or engineers to plan or review work activities.
  • Conduct 6S audits and safety walks.
  • Participate in work groups to optimize processes and workflows.

Hours: 40 hrs/week

Job Requirements

Required Skills:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with product, workmanship standards, and assembly procedures.

Preferred Skills:

  • Mathematics - Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, statistics, and their applications.
  • English Language - Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition and grammar.
  • Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) - Knowledge of environmental health and safety regulations and procedures.
  • Computers - Basic knowledge of computer software applications.
  • Production and Processing - Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Machines and Tools- Knowledge of machines, power tools, and hand tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and operator level maintenance.
  • Lean Manufacturing - Knowledge of basic lean principles and techniques for optimizing processes and eliminating waste.
  • Documenting/Recording Information - entering, transcribing, recording, storing, or maintaining information in written or electronic/magnetic form.
