How You'll Contribute to the Team:

Under the direction of the Director of Enterprise Data & Analytics, the ETL Data Engineer will play a critical role in automating and optimizing utility usage and consumption data pipelines that support Corvias' Energy Services in the real estate industry. This role will be primarily responsible for designing, building, documenting, and maintaining scalable data workflows that ingest, transform, and deliver utility data into production environments-enabling operational insights, cost analysis, and sustainability initiatives across diverse infrastructure assets.

Primary Responsibilities Include:



  • Design and build automated data pipelines to ingest, transform, and monitor utility usage and consumption data, ensuring accuracy, scalability, and performance.
  • Support the expansion of ETL/ELT pipelines to other business domains as organizational needs evolve.
  • Partner closely with Data Architect to ensure all pipelines and data solutions align with enterprise data strategy, warehouse standards, and best practices for architecture, security, and governance.
  • Translate business requirements into efficient, maintainable data solutions that align with enterprise architecture and analytics objectives.
  • Develop and maintain logical and physical data models to support reporting, analysis, and operational use cases.
  • Optimize and manage data workflows within Microsoft Fabric, including pipeline performance tuning, error handling, and lineage tracking.
  • Leverage Azure Function Apps, Power Automate, and ADF to automate data movement from diverse sources such as PDFs, Excel files, APIs, and email attachments.
  • Enforce data engineering best practices, including version control, testing, and documentation, to ensure consistency and quality across all data assets.
  • Collaborate with analysts, developers, and business users to ensure that data solutions are user-centric and aligned with functional requirements.
  • Contribute to database design and evolution, addressing performance, storage, cost optimization, and cloud migration strategy.
  • Evaluate and recommend BI and data integration tools and methodologies, particularly within the Microsoft ecosystem.
  • Support end-users and analysts by delivering clean, reliable data sets and providing technical guidance on how to access and use those data products.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Role Specific Requirements Include:



  • Bachelor's degree in computer data science, statistics, applied mathematics, information systems, or a related quantitative field required. Master's degree in computer science preferred.
  • Expert-level proficiency in C#, with hands-on experience in building custom ETL logic, integrating APIs, and performing advanced data manipulation.
  • Hands-on experience building Azure Functions for external users access to specific data sets.
  • Hands-on experience building and deploying scalable services using Azure Function Apps and Azure Foundry, with a strong understanding of event-driven architecture and serverless computing.
  • Proficient in object-oriented scripting languages, including Python and R, for advanced analytics and automation workflows.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines, including data modeling, transformation, metadata management, and workload optimization.
  • Deep expertise with Azure Synapse Analytics and Fabric, including pipeline development, data warehousing, and performance tuning.
  • Proven capability to extract and transform data from complex, dynamic sources, such as: Unstructured and semi-structured PDF documents using OCR tools (e.g., Azure Form Recognizer) Multi-sheet and poorly structured Excel workbooksSecure and non-secure external/internal APIs (REST, JSON, XML, OAuth) Email-based ingestion workflows and dynamic attachments
  • Hands-on experience with Power Automate and Azure Logic Apps to streamline intake processes and automate ETL triggers.
  • Skilled in modernizing and optimizing legacy ETL processes to improve performance, scalability, and maintainability in production environments.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, and Microsoft Purview for semantic-layer-based discovery, data lineage, and analytics integration.
  • Strong understanding of agile methodologies and practical experience applying DevOps, CI/CD, and DataOps principles to accelerate delivery and promote collaboration between data engineers, analysts, and business users.
  • Strong understanding of the principles, practices, and tools of the software development lifecycle.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment.
