Overview Responsible for the design and development of new products for the fire extinguisher market. Responsibilities
- Perform market research to understand market requirements for new product development.
- Conceptualize new product ideas by using Autodesk Inventor CAD software to design prototypes.
- Work with regulatory agencies such as: UL, FM, etc. for product approvals/compliance and associated listings.
- Conduct R&D efforts involving hands-on prototype development, function testing and required performance/verification testing.
- Maintain product continuous improvement efforts supporting production.
- Create technical documents and instruction literature.
- Ability to handle a dynamic workload: from heavy multi-tasking during peak workloads to very focused detail-oriented work during critical projects.
- High degree of attention to detail; demonstrates accuracy and self-directed, energetic, dependable, and thorough, with the ability to handle multiple responsibilities and tasks on a regular basis.
- Ability to manage scheduled projects from concept to completion within estimated timeline.
- Approximate travel 10%.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Mechanical, Electrical, or Fire Protection Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
- Familiar with data acquisition hardware/software.
- Excellent team communication, time management, human relations, and organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, proficiency in written and verbal communication.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Autodesk Design Suite, and Adobe Acrobat.
