The HR Technology Consultant is part of the People Systems Team and will design, develop, test, and implement technology solutions for the People Department. This role will monitor, troubleshoot, and provide maintenance support to the Workday portal to ensure functions are completed seamlessly. They will also collaborate with various workgroups and support Company initiatives by offering guidance and expertise with process improvements, HR Technology strategy development, and strategic portfolio planning. The HR Technology Consultant is a strong communicator with a continuous improvement mindset and is excited to be part of impactful initiatives that drive the future of Southwest.

Responsibilities
- Conduct analysis and identify solutions to business problems
- Collaborate with Stakeholders to ensure features and subsequent stories meet expectations
- Communicate with key Stakeholders to determine project requirements and objectives
- Develop, document, and revise system design procedures, test procedures, and quality standards
- Assess the usefulness of pre-developed application packages and adapt them to a user environment
- Configure, maintain or update business intelligence tools, databases, dashboards, systems, or methods
- Expand or modify system to serve new purposes or improve workflow
- Identify impediments and potential solutions; challenge the status quo to improve quality, predictability, flow, and velocity
- Define and drive direction for the enterprise within an agile framework and achieve goals using standard program and project management methodologies and practices
- May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing Customer and personal services including Customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of Customer satisfaction
- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, stenography, and transcription, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology
- Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods including alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral, and visual media
- Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labor relations and negotiation, and personnel information systems
- Skilled in understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making
- Skilled in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
- Skilled in identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
- Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense
- Ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand
Education
- Required: High School Diploma or GED
Experience
- Required: Advanced-level experience, seasoned and specialized knowledge in:
- Functional experience and support of Workday HR and/or Payroll systems
Preferred: Experience in Workday modules (e.g., HCM, Core Compensation, Talent, Absence, Security, Business Process Framework).
Physical Abilities
- Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of time
- Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
- Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
Other Qualifications
- Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
- Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
Pay & Benefits: Competitive market salary from $116,350 per year to $129,300 per year* depending on qualifications and experience.
