Job Description This position manages the group responsible for inspection of new construction of sanitary sewer main projects and sanitary sewer service lines to ensure these facilities are constructed to Johnson County Wastewater standards and specifications. Job Duties include:
Manages and monitors sewer main projects ensuring construction ensuring they meet JCW specifications, standards, and construction drawings; ensures the consulting engineering observer is enforcing JCW specifications and standards; issues code enforcement tickets in compliance with JCW's Sewer Use Code, standards and specifications.
Job Requirements Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering Technology or relevant field is required. Five years' experience in civil or mechanical infrastructure construction or design or relevant field is required. A valid driver's license and must pass a background check are required. Preferred Requirements: One year leading, directing, supervising, or coordinating the work of others preferred. Physical, Environmental, and Special Working Conditions: - Sensory abilities, including vision and/or hearing requirements - Excessive standing and/or walking 25% of the time - Exposure to extreme temperatures - Exposure to fumes and/or chemicals - Exposure to heights - Lifting weight up to 80 pounds is required - Uniform is required - Travel driving to inspections is required - Construction site safety skills and experience required - Using computer and technology software for a variety of work-related tasks required Education may substitute for experience and experience may substitute for education. |
