Conference & Event Assistant


Position Overview: The Conference & Event Assistant works closely with the full time staff to execute event setups and tear downs throughout campus for internal Concordia events and external event rentals. Employees will be responsible for moving tables and chairs, storage room upkeep, decor assembly and occasional linen laundering and office work. Setting up sound systems, microphones and serving as event support will be periodically expected. Occasional office work may be expected in addition to duties as assigned.

Essential Duties:


  • Comprehension: Reading and interpreting written and verbal instructions provided via text, email and diagrams.
  • Punctuality: Obtain reliable transportation to ensure timely arrival for scheduled shifts. Secure other student employees if unable to work.
  • Communication: Effective, concise, and prompt communication when problems, questions, and work-related issues arise. Ability to report to supervisor post shift indicating what tasks are not completed and if they encountered any challenges. Effectively communicate, in a professional and respectful manner, with fellow student employees.
  • Physicality: Position requires employee to walk, push, pull, and arrange office type furniture like tables, chairs, linen, audio visual equipment. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Flexible: This position will not have consistent times as available hours are determined by the number of events taking place. Workday tasks will vary and the hours will not be static from week to week.
  • Trustworthy: Position is often required to work independently and finish tasks in a timely manner.


To be eligible to be a CSP student employee, one must:


  • Be enrolled and registered as a CSP student (PSEO students are not eligible).
  • Have a United States social security number.*
  • Have proper identification as determined by Form I-9.
  • Be in good standing with CSP academic requirements and student accounts.
  • For summer employment, priority will be given to the student employees who are enrolled and registered in summer courses.

Pay Range: $15.97 per hour
