About The Role

Summary

The Scrum Master role is responsible for facilitating and championing the agile software development process by managing sprints, facilitating communication, coaching and mentoring development teams, identifying and eliminating impediments, and promoting the use of standards and best practices. Ensures smooth operation of agile processes and activities by facilitating scrum ceremonies and maintaining scrum artifacts. Manages other hybrid project activities as needed.

Performs in a highly visible role and interfaces with management and all levels of the organization. Builds and continuously develops relationships with all levels of the organization and vendors to increase operational capability. Professionalism and diplomacy to gain trust is critical to the success of the position.

This is a Corporate position which may be located at an available bank division location across our eight-state footprint in AZ, CO, ID, MT, NV, UT, WA, or WY. The entry rate for this position is $67,770.67 + / per hour (calculated for Kalispell, MT).

All compensation offers are analyzed individually and take into consideration multiple factors including but not limited to geographic location, years of experience, and educational background.

WA Applicants ONLY range: $73,817.63 to $110,726.44 a year.

Description

  • Organize and facilitate agile activities and scrum ceremonies (daily scrum standups, sprint planning, sprint review/demo, sprint retrospective). Manage sprints and remove roadblocks. Act as a liaison between product manager, product owner and development team. Support product owner or business analyst with backlog refinement and estimating and ensures that product backlog refinement sessions occur. Collaborate on requirement documentation. Support product manager and/or solutions architect with release planning. Support the product owner with defining the roadmap. Facilitate communication between roles. Ensure meetings are positive, productive, stay on topic, and are kept within the timebox. Participate in quarterly planning and communicate dependencies. Document risks and decisions. Manage other hybrid project activities as needed.
  • Maintain Scrum artifacts (i.e. sprint backlog, sprint calendar). Support the team in using agile planning and development tools (i.e. ADO). Partner with product managers, owners, and stakeholders to align priority across teams. Support the product manager as they manage the product backlog. When other agile resources are not available, assist with other activities like documenting release scope, scheduling releases, and communicating release features.
  • Drive cross functional team at all levels. Coach and mentor team members to improve collaboration and self-management to cultivate a self-organizing team. Report on team metrics to identify and assist in process improvement. Utilize team feedback and velocity metrics to identify areas of opportunity and work with the team to continuously improve. Proactively identify and remove impediments to team progress to allow the team to be most effective. Contribute to the advancement/improvement of agile practices within the organization and promote the use of agile standards and best practices.
  • Governance: Adheres to and supports the use of governance, security and risk management practices.
  • Must comply with all company policies and procedures and all applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control. Must complete the assigned online training courses and achieve a passing score by due date.

Additional Requirements

Travel

Up to 10% travel required: (e.g. 2 days/month) by automobile (as driver and passenger), commercial airlines, rental vehicles and public transportation and be able to lodge in public facilities. Travel will be necessary to conduct the duties of this job, and the employee must have the ability to drive and have proper licensing.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: Starting salary is dependent upon relevant experience and may vary based on the geographic location of the position.
