POSITION SUMMARY:

The Purchasing Analyst position will be a key member of the Receiving team in Fort Payne, AL which is the largest manufacturing site in Environmental Solutions Group (ESG), and an important supporting contributor within the plant operations Receiving and Purchasing teams. The position requires this person to have a thorough understanding of Receiving processes that result in ERP transactions necessary for receiving/materials purposes. This will enable the incumbent to obtain a key understanding in all activities of these transactional processes. The incumbent will be expected to provide insights in helping to drive performance improvements. It will be important that the role ensures adherence to established policies and procedures are being followed consistently, as well as conduct special projects as assigned by management.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:

• Receive packing list, research recurring issues and perform root cause analyses.
• Assist Purchasing Team with purchase order accuracy and resolution of errors.
• Resolve procurement issues with Purchasing Team by assisting Accounts Payable with invoice issues, credit holds, and past due invoices.
• Recommend and develop policies, procedures, and systems to meet company objectives related to Receiving and Purchase Order accuracy, specifically related to the objective of no-touch processing of invoices.
• Conduct quarterly reviews of the Received-Not-Vouchered report.
• Maintain Basware Accounts Payable "Purchasing Analyst" workflow queue.
• Route all incoming mail to appropriate invoice mailbox.
• Perform other related duties as directed by supervisor.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.

• 1+ years' of Receiving experience, and interaction with Purchasing functions a plus.
• Proven analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills in previous roles.
• Experience with a recognized ERP system (Oracle, SAP, JDE, etc.).
• Expertise with Excel.
• Ability to develop strong partnerships across multiple locations and functions; high degree of comfort operating in a matrix environment.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously and meet competing deadlines.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and presentation skills.
• Intellectual curiosity and a passion for getting involved in all aspects of the business.
• Have a sense of urgency and ownership in their delivery and flexibility in terms of their style and approach.

Requirements:

Education: Requires a High School diploma or GED.

Knowledge: Requires ability to understand general arithmetic; ability to write in an understandable manner; understand verbal or written instructions; ability to read and understand instructions, lists and billing materials; use PC based applications, including Mainstar, Outlook, and Microsoft Office, knowledge normally acquired through high school or equivalent experience.

Mental: Requires normal attention with periods of high concentration intermittently to operate machinery approximately 50% of time.

Physical: Requires walking/standing approximately 70%, lifting up to 40 pounds approximately 15% of time; involves repetitive overhead work approximately 10% of time; involves repetitive stooping, forward bending and crouching approximately 5% of time.

Manual Dexterity: Requires use of hands, arms, and feet for repetitive lifting; use of hands and arms to operate all manufacturing equipment, meters, chains hoists, automatic drills, and general hand tools and to record written information.

Audible Demands: Requires ability to follow verbal instructions and to hear for safety purposes.

Visual: Requires the ability to visually observe essential functions for satisfactory job performance and safety; color and depth perception required.

Environmental: Involves exposure to plant environments with the presence of dust, fumes, noise, and fluctuating temperatures due to lack of climate control.
