***This is a remote, field position. The ideal candidate will work out of their home office, and conduct business travel as needed to meet the required goals of this position. This position will support the North region (MI, IN, OH, KY).***

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for providing technical expertise & support to the SICK, Inc. Strategic Industry Teams, distributors, integrators, and customers with regard to the SICK, Inc. Industrial Safety portfolio.

The SICK, Inc. Industrial Safety portfolio includes the following:

1) Safety Lightcurtains

2) Safety Switches and Relays

3) Safety Scanners

4) Safety Controls

5) Safety Solutions

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Evaluate existing and new business segments, key technology trends, customer and industry needs, regulatory impacts, and competitor moves for assigned portfolio.

* Assist Market Product Management in the product launch process to successfully introduce new products, product adaptations/extensions, and services for assigned portfolio into the market aligned with the product launch strategy.

* Support Market Product Management by providing information on new product ideas, services, and potential for assigned portfolio. Leverage tools like SICK Ideas to document use case and technical requirements.

* Update product documentation and Sales & Marketing collateral as required.

* Assist in the design, development, and construction of demonstration equipment to support market activities.

* Provide internal training on products, product adaptations/extensions, and services for assigned portfolio aligned with Technology Sales Champions. Support the Training Program Management Office by providing external training as required. Training may be in-person of via WebEx/GoToWebinars meetings.

* Provide product technical implementation support for assigned portfolio with customers. Support may be in-person or via telephone, WebEx/GoToWebinars meetings, email, and/or other forms of communication.

* Engage in joint and collaborative consulting selling teams. Use the CRM system to document Value Creation Path engagement activities ensuring visibility for all selling team members.

* Mentor Market Application Engineer I resources. Work with resources on an individual basis to develop skills and competencies necessary for their current position.

* Carry out other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

* Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or other Engineering discipline preferred OR 4+ years of equivalent experience

* Advanced level of Sales, Product Management, or Application Engineering experience in Logistics Automation, Factory Automation, or Process Automation industries and applications

* Advanced level knowledge in software (IO-Link, SOPAS, AppSpace, Safety Designer), sensor integration, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Distributed Control Systems (DCSs), Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems, Asset Management Systems (AMSs), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, programming, networking, database management, and cyber security

Other Qualifications:

* Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills

* Must be able to communicate technical concepts in a clear and concise manner, whether written or oral

* Excellent customer relationship skills such as the ability to listen, assert self, resolve conflicts and work out customer concerns

* Ability to understand and apply engineering concepts quickly

* Computer proficiency with Microsoft (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Internet applications

* Ability and willingness to work alternative schedules including weekend, and on-call hours as needed

* Legally permitted to work in the United States

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

Our base salary is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The starting base salary range for this position is listed below. Actual starting salary will be based on a variety of factors including experience, skill set, education, performance, license/certifications, business needs, and other job-related factors permitted by law.

Starting Base Annual Salary Range:

$83,640 - $126,500

Bonus Eligibility:

This role is eligible for an annual bonus based on a combination of company and individual performance.
