About The Role: As a CPT Operator - Driller, you're not just running equipment, you're delivering the critical data that shapes roads, bridges, buildings, and entire communities. You'll lead geotechnical drilling operations using advanced methods like CPT, SCPT, PPDs, DMT, and soil sampling, ensuring engineers have the insights they need to design safe, sustainable, and innovative infrastructure. - Drilling Operations: Operate drill rigs with advanced knowledge of the entire fleet of rigs (Track, Truck, Limited access, Overwater)
- Equipment Maintenance: Oversee and determine the need for equipment maintenance.
- Reporting: Submit data to the Project Manager in an organized and timely manner.
- Quality: Assure that all drilling functions, including quality control, quality assurance, and verification, are performed per the standard drilling methods, project specifications, and other contract documents.
- Coordination of Others: Coordinate and oversee the daily activities on medium to large projects of assigned operator assistants and communicate field conditions and job progress to management and professional staff daily.
- Training: Effectively train and mentor junior-level staff.
About You:
- You have a High school diploma or GED
- You have a Bachelor's degree in geology, a plus
- You have a minimum of 5 years of drilling experience
- You have a Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- You have effective communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing) using the English language
- You have an advanced understanding of CPT software/data
- You have the knowledge and ability to perform routine vehicle and equipment maintenance
- You have mechanical knowledge related to drilling and heavy equipment
You Are Willing and Able to: Perform the physical demands of the position with the use of company-provided Personal Protective Equipment, such as:
- Working outdoors the majority of the time in varying weather conditions
- Walking over rough, uneven terrain and standing for potentially up to 12 hours a day
- Routinely lifting and carrying 40-50lbs (field/laboratory samples and equipment)
- Traveling out-of-town (overnight) for assignments
- Working outside of normal business hours
