Kitchen & Hospitality Specialist - On Call

LOCATION: Camp Ponderosa Ranch, Heber, Arizona

STATUS: On-Call / 8-16hrs/wk / Hourly

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have a High School diploma or GED
• Experience working in a kitchen or dining area strongly preferred
• Excellent customer service skills including a positive and pleasant demeanor at all times
• Must exemplify a character rooted in respect, patience, & sensitivity towards a diverse population
• Must be able to work under pressure.
• Must be detail-oriented, punctual, dependable, and personable.
• Ability to work alongside staff and volunteers with a variety of skill levels and dispositions
• Ability to maintain a high level of cleanliness and safety
• Must maintain Food Service Certification once acquired which must be acquired within 30 days of employment
• Excellent communication skills
• Must pass a criminal background check
• Must acknowledge & maintain Protect the Mission boundaries at all times as it relates to group demographics & the PTM program
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness in personal grooming.

Kitchen

• Ensure that the dining area is clean, clutter-free, and welcoming.
• Assist with any assigned food service preparation.
• Wash and store dishes, pots, and pans.
• Communicate stocking and inventory needs and assist with inventory procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness of all dishwashing and food prep areas
• Reset and restock the dining hall as assigned
• Flip the dining hall and kitchen between groups as assigned.
• Ensure assigned tasks are completed in a timely manner.
• Be willing to accomplish any job that may enhance Ponderosa's food service experience.

Hospitality

• Greet dining guests with a welcoming and joyful demeanor.
• Assist in the Conifer Cafe as scheduled and assigned.
• Reflect and implement the Camp Ponderosa mission in the Kitchen and Dining Hall
• Listen to guest feedback and report concerns to immediate supervisor as soon as possible
• Observe and report issues that would be cause for concern & impacting service excellence
• Ensure that guests are having a good time and enjoying the facilities, food, and fellowship

Must have the ability to operate telephone, a desktop or laptop computer, as well as the ability to access and produce information from a computer, and to understand written information.
