Job Description
PCI is seeking an energetic dependable, and motivated BIM Technician for its PCI Kansas City 567 operations based in Lenexa, KS. This individual will be responsible for the following duties:
- Create 3D models utilizing Revit.
- Occasionally create 3D models using AutoCAD.
- Model Interior and Exterior Wall, Ceiling and Soffit Framing, Acoustical Ceilings, Specialty Panels, Raised Access Floor, Clean Room Walls, Clean Room Ceilings, Unistrut, No Fly Zones and other specialty scopes to required Level of Detail using Revit, Metal Wood Framer and other Revit add-on programs.
- Ensue models produced are spatially coordinated.
- Escalate any issues to the BIM Coordinator and Design or Operations Team.
- Produce models and drawings that are consistent with instructions, guidelines and BIM standards.
- Ensure all elements of the model are fully coordinated within PCI's scope.
- Utilize Navisworks Manage to run clash detection and identify potential issues.
- Perform BIM compliance checks of deliverables.
- Attend kick off meeting with design and or operations staff at beginning of project to ensure Level of Detail, scope, project details and contract requirements are understood before modeling begins.
- Attend and assist with coordinating staff training to enhance staff members' knowledge and expertise of the standardized software used.
- Provide & design support tasks including but not limited to: processing shop drawing, incorporating comments, Producing details and layout files.
- QC model against project documents for discrepancies.
- Elevate model and document inconsistencies to the attention of the BIM Coordinator and Design/Operations Team to determine what action is to be taken.
- Coordinate with point cloud files.
- Special projects as assigned.
Requirements
- 2-year technical degree or currently obtaining a 2-year technical degree.
- 0-3 years of VDC experience in the construction industry.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit and Navisworks Manage.
- Experience with Bluebeam PDF Software.
- Ability to understand design and document coordination.
- Innovative and creatively minded individual looking to improve process, procedure, and construction techniques to provide continued improvement and efficiency to role, work scopes, and our customers.
- Ability to take responsibility for the outcome and results of assigned projects.
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Excel & Microsoft Word.
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
- Motivated self-starter with strong work ethic and a willingness to take initiative.
- Positive attitude and ability to work in team environment.
- Work well under pressure and deadline.
- Ability to communicate the benefits of BIM/VDC, both for internal and external purpose.
- Passion about BIM/VDC and how it can be used to improve the productivity of those who work in design and construction.
- Knowledge of construction industry, means and methods is a plus.
- Proficiency in BIM 360 Design, Sketch Up, Dynamo, Rhino, Grasshopper & iConstruct are a plus.
