Baptist Health is looking for a Compliance Coding Auditor/Educator to join their team. This is a remote work position that requires residency in KY or IN

The Compliance Coding Auditor/ Educator is an internal technical expert responsible for the education,auditing, and compliance related to professional service (physician) coding and billing anddocumentation for Baptist Health Kentucky. The Compliance Coding Auditor/Educator will be requiredto provide individualized training for providers, management, and support staff regarding CPT coding,E&M Coding, documentation, and diagnosis coding. This position will serve in a role that is dedicatedto improving the accuracy of coding and billing for the professional services rendered and provideeducation required to assist physicians and providers in achieving that goal. Compliance Auditor/Educator Level 1 (A/E-1) performs routine and follow-up audits focusing on specialties withouthigh complexity surgical services or intricate LCD/NCD requirements. A/E-1 will facilitate auditsoutsourced to vendors but usually will not be expected to perform focused or due diligence audits.These A/Es will educate their audited providers and the management/staff but will not usually beexpected to educate or present to larger groups. A/E-1 will usually not receive routed queries fromoutside the Compliance and Internal Audit departments.

Minimum Education, Experience, Training and Licensures Required

  • Bachelor's degree; Graduate of an accredited discipline-specific

  • program or BS/BA in Healthcare Administration orBusiness Administration or equivalent experiencerequired

  • Comprehensive training (Certificate/Diploma) in coding/auditing through a recognized program plus additional direct experience in lieu of degree

  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) by AAPC

  • Certified Coding Specialist - Physician (CCS-P) by AHIMA

  • Coding or Auditing Certification

  • Minimum of 6 years' work experience required in physician billing/reimbursement, billing compliance, and/or Auditing.

  • Minimum of 5 years' work experience in auditing and educating individuals regarding medical record documentation in a multispecialty setting is preferred.

  • Exceptional group presentation and teaching skills

  • Subject matter expert in CPT coding and diagnosis (ICD-9 / ICD-10)
