Responsibilities

The Manager of Market Research is responsible for the planning, management, and execution of market research projects. This person will oversee IBTS' Business Analytics and Marketing (BAM) team.

The purpose of this position is to manage the identification, selection, and collection of market data, along with its analysis. As well as develop effective research approaches, methodologies, tools, and deliverables for each market research project. This role and its supporting staff are charged with filling the IBTS pipeline with high probability opportunities and to provide insight into emerging markets.

The Manager of Market Research will also oversee all marketing efforts including Brand strategy, messaging, and communications; public facing promotions; conference and trade show coordination; and internal communications.

The Manager of Market Research supervises a team of skilled market research professionals who support organizational goals and pipeline targets.

Responsibilities/Duties of this position

    Collaborate with IBTS leadership (Executives, Directors, Business Development, and Subject Matter Experts) to understand their business needs, objectives, and priorities.
  • Possess a deep understanding of the organizational goals and strategy to align efforts with the most relevant Scopes of Work, geographies, and market segments.
  • Identify existing and potential contract opportunities to pursue as well as new market segments for business expansion. Provide insights into future market conditions via market research, planned government solicitations, opportunity and trend forecasting, advanced analytics, economic modeling, and public and private notices.
  • Research and direct efforts around market intelligence, competitive intelligence, pricing models, government and industry trends, and new service needs with a specific focus on multiple government sectors.
  • Manage a team of market research professionals and oversee their efforts to develop and implement effective market research projects, data collection, analysis, and deliverables.
  • Oversee IBTS events, including conventions, conferences, trade shows, webinars, and speaking engagements. Works with in-house and outsources subject matter experts to identify topics and concepts for speaking engagements and publication that align with IBTS marketing priorities and business development efforts.
  • Develop marketing programs and projects that drive brand awareness, interest, and recognition of IBTS as a thought leader among clients, prospects, and partners. While setting goals, objectives, key performance indicators, budgets, strategies, approaches, and timelines for these efforts. Track and report on all related metrics and analysis of outcomes.
  • Provide BAM resources and support in the Capture, Bid and Proposal process with research, data, analysis, intelligence, outreach, communications, content creation, and graphics as needed.
  • Provide miscellaneous services and support to various Divisions and coworkers on projects, initiatives, and pursuits including strategic consulting, meeting facilitation, research, writing, and editing.
  • Other dutes as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree
  • Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Experience: 3+ years of research experience in the built environment (architecture, engineering, construction) for federal, state, and local programs.
  • Management: 1+ years of experience managing direct reports or project-based work.
  • Marketing: 1+ years managing marketing campaigns and/or creative agency engagements.

  • Effective communication skills with the ability to understand and communicate on a variety of topics to different audiences, including clients, partners, company leadership and staff.
  • Excellent leadership skills that is collaborative and tactful while managing, mentoring, and coaching others. Has an elevated level of confidence, integrity, and commitment to others.
  • Advanced writing skills; demonstrated ability to understand technical subjects and communicate value to non-technical audiences. Ability to write for B2B/B2G audiences and promote professional services.
  • Strong computer, software, and related technology skills such as Microsoft suite, CRM Systems, Power BI, US Government procurement websites, Social Media platforms, and others.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish
