Job Description:

Our client is seeking an experienced and technically driven Process Engineering Manager to oversee the improvement of existing manufacturing processes and the implementation of new equipment and production capabilities. This role will be responsible for driving manufacturing efficiency, quality, and safety initiatives while supporting the company's growth objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in process development, project management, and manufacturing operations, with the ability to balance technical expertise and leadership skills.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to):

  • Implement new manufacturing equipment and processes to support business growth.
  • Develop and execute assigned CAPEX plans, including justification, selection, validation, and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Conduct RFQs, concept/design reviews, and runoffs to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Improve manufacturing processes for production of wire and cable products (or similar complex products).
  • Perform technical data analysis, identify problems, and implement effective resolutions.
  • Establish process windows, equipment capability specifications, required tooling, and manufacturing techniques.
  • Lead assigned safety and ergonomic improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards while improving operational efficiency.
  • Manage cost-reduction initiatives, equipment utilization, and downtime reduction projects.
  • Audit quality control procedures and instruct manufacturing teams on new processes.
  • Work with vendors to stay informed on new manufacturing methods and technology.
  • Implement process cost reductions, improve material usage, and minimize scrap.
  • Develop efficient salvage methods for scrap materials.
  • Support operational improvements on the shop floor, including quality, efficiency, productivity, and material control initiatives.
  • Train production personnel on proper machine operation and process techniques.
  • Develop and maintain training materials and product processing documentation.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance to address customer complaints and implement corrective actions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Manufacturing Technology (preferred) or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years in manufacturing engineering, production, or related roles, preferably in wire and cable manufacturing or a similar industry.
  • Proven track record in implementing and supporting safety and ergonomic programs.
  • Project management experience required; PMP certification preferred.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma methodologies preferred.
  • Experience in equipment selection, justification, validation, and commissioning.
  • Availability to travel as needed for training or project support.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence at all organizational levels.
  • Organized, disciplined approach to problem-solving and process optimization.
  • Knowledge of OEE improvement strategies and equipment capacity optimization.
  • Ability to make quick, data-driven decisions to maintain product quality.
  • Understanding of regulatory and industry standards relevant to manufacturing.
  • Must be able to perform tasks requiring near and far vision, manual dexterity, and multi-limb coordination; frequently stand, bend, squat, and reach; lift up to 40 lbs.; use safety and protective equipment; and work in an indoor manufacturing environment involving repetitive motions and material handling.
