LFS, Inc. was established in 1967 and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Trident Seafoods. Our corporate headquarters is in Bellingham, WA and we have three year-round locations in Washington State: Bellingham, Seattle, and Poulsbo. LFS also has five year-round locations in Alaska: Anchorage, Cordova, Dutch Harbor, Homer (Kachemak Gear Shed), and Sitka; and two seasonal locations in Dillingham and Naknek. While our core business is supplying the commercial fishing industry, we have evolved to include industrial and sports netting sales, hydraulic sales and services, wholesale/industrial sales, recreational marine and outdoor sales, and internet sales.

Summary:

LFS is seeking an experienced sales representative to join our team. Your primary role will be to drive sales and revenue by building strong, long-term customer relationships in the Alaska commercial fishing and boat building community.

Essential functions (responsibilities, tasks, supervisory needs)

  • Contacts regular and prospective commercial and wholesale customers to solicit orders.
  • Talks with commercial and wholesale customers on sales floor or by phone.
  • Has product and industry knowledge.
  • Manage emails, and incoming calls from commercial and wholesale customers.
  • Enter new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database.
  • Manage and grow customer relationships.
  • Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries.
  • Suggest new products and inventory levels to purchasing.

This is a full-time year-round benefited position.

Transportation and housing are not provided.

Minimum Requirements

Required Qualifications (education, years of experience, KSAs)

  • Associate degree (AA) from two-year college or university; or one to two years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven sales experience.
  • Strong communication skills (in person, phone, written) and the ability to build rapport with clients.

Preferred education and experience

  • Commercial fishing experience or boating experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or business administration
  • Knowledge of marine and/or industrial product lines.

Work environment:

  • Office setting in retail facility that also houses warehouse, net loft, and steel yard.
  • The noise level is moderate.

Physical demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit or stand; use a keyboard and talk or listen. The employee is occasionally required to walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to thirty pounds.
