Summary:

The Senior Director Business Development is responsible for driving sales results for services that the Company provides including but not limited to warehousing, logistics, and brokerage.

Job Duties: -

* Assists executive management with development and execution of a "channel" or "vertical" Business Plan which includes overall landscape, competitive analysis, company gap/strategic differences, strategic partnership opportunities, marketing/brand awareness, benchmark pricing, industry and channel target accounts, goals, objectives, and budget items.

* Educates and assists with the implementation of the Business Plan in an attempt to grow the channel or vertical with assistance of the entire Business Development organization

* Helps build customer relationships with targeted accounts

* Assists with the development of the solution, RFP response and value proposition for each opportunity

* Assists the Warehouse Logistics Business Development team on all "final" presentations or "tours", development of customer strategies that matches Company strengths to potential customers needs and marketing materials to support the value proposition for this channel or vertical (power point, references, relevant experience, etc.)

* Commits to meeting or exceeding sales performance goals and objectives

* Produces new customer service business, and maintain/expand current profitable customer base

* Organizes plans, executes, and produces that sales and marketing function of warehouse logistics services in support of company's corporate mission and goals.

* Interfaces Sales and Marketing information with Operations/Customer Service departments to ensure an efficient work flow

* Provides Marketing and competitive information as a key member of the sales team

* Accelerates the development of logistics multiple source logistics assignments

* Other duties as required and assigned

Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree in Business/Logistics or related area of study from a 4 year college or university

* Minimum 8 to 10 years experience as a sales executive in an applicable market; or an equivalent combination of education and training

* Record of excellent sales performance results in the applicable market

* Working knowledge of tier one WMS software

* PC literate to include Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel and Outlook

* Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals

* Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and co-workers

* Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists

* Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

* Ability to negotiate profitable partner relationships with regional and National logistics clients

* Dynamic leadership skills

Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and is regularly exposed to ambient lighting and temperate climate conditions.
