Johnson and Sons Paving, a Fast-Growing Commercial Paving Company in Southeastern Wisconsin, Seeks An Experienced Asphalt Paving Project & Sales Manager to Sell and Manage Asphalt and Concrete Paving Projects.


Job Summary:

We’re looking for an experienced, result-driven an Asphalt Paving Project & Sales Manager to join our fast-growing commercial and residential paving business serving Southern Wisconsin. At Johnson and Sons Paving, we pride ourselves on efficiency, accuracy, and quality, which means we need a Construction Project Manager that effectively communicate with our crews, sales people, and clients to ensure successful completion of large-scale projects.

This position is salaried and includes commission based on experience with full benefits including comprehensive health insurance, life insurance, paid holiday, PTO, and opportunities for professional development and advancement.

As our new Asphalt Paving Project & Sales Manager, you will be responsible for selling, planning, and supervising a wide of range construction projects from start to finish. On an average day, you’ll look for new sales leads, nurture existing relationships, organize and oversee construction procedures to ensure they are completed in a timely and efficient manner.  You’ll need to be well-versed in all construction methodologies and procedures. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

·       Collaborating with business owners, engineers, architects, and other project stakeholders to determine project specifications and details.

·       Effectively negotiating contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements.

·       Successfully obtaining permits and licenses from all appropriate authorities.

·       Routinely determining needed resources such as manpower, equipment, and materials, from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations.

·       Thoroughly planning all construction operations and scheduling intermediate phases to ensure all deadlines are met.

·       Acquiring the appropriate equipment and materials while monitoring stocks to handle inadequacies in a timely manner.

·       Supervising the work of laborers and providing guidance whenever needed.

·       Regularly evaluating project progress to prepare detailed reports.

·       Managing and leading necessary actions when delays, bad weather, or emergencies occur at construction sites.

·       Ensuring adherence to all health and safety standards and reporting and issues.

·       Readily performing other related duties as assigned.  

Required Skills and Abilities:

·       Proven experience as construction project manager.

·       An in-depth understanding of construction procedures along with material and project management principles. 

·       A familiarity with and dedication to quality, health, and safety standards. 

·       Solid working knowledge of the Microsoft Office software suite.

·       Experience with construction/project management software.

·       Outstanding communication and negotiation skills.

·       Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

·       The ability to work alongside a team while demonstrating excellent leadership skills.

·       Experience with municipality and DOT construction projects a plus.

·       Experience with asphalt and concrete a plus.

Education & Experience:

Our new Asphalt Paving Project & Sales Manager should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Science, Construction Management, or Civil Engineering or an equivalent combination of training and experience with a proven track record. We’re also looking for candidates who have at least five years of construction project management experience.
