You will work across a range of topics that include health, education, criminal justice, politics, and climate and environment, ensuring stories resonate around the world. Responsibilities: As an AP reporter, you will collaborate with diverse teams of journalists in text, photo, video, audio, digital/social, interactive and graphics. The position may involve occasional travel, and the successful candidate should be prepared to leave on short notice as news needs arise. You also should be able and willing to work any shift, including at night and on weekends, as AP is a 24/7 operation. This temporary staff position lasts through June 2027 and is covered by the AP's agreement with the News Media Guild. We're looking for someone who:
Required Qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications: A track record of covering distinctive stories with Indigenous communities and breaking news is preferred. You should have excellent interpersonal skills and be eager to learn from mentors across the organization. You should have strong organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects across formats and deliver on complex, challenging story lines. We will consider strong candidates who do not meet every listed qualification.
