PAY RANGE

The Target Pay Range for this position is $21.20-$25.91 hourly. The full Pay Range is $21.11-$30.67 hourly. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. IMPACT YOU'LL MAKE:

As a Mortgage Sales Assistant I at BECU, you'll be more than just a support role - you'll be a key driver in helping our members achieve one of the most important milestones of their lives: homeownership. You'll bring your organizational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to exceptional service to every interaction, ensuring mortgage applications move forward smoothly and on time. Your work will help our Mortgage Sales team deliver an outstanding member experience, strengthen community relationships, and make dreams of homeownership a reality.

***This role is hybrid, requiring two days a week (typically Wednesdays and Thursdays) or more onsite at BECU's Spokane Home Loan Center, with flexibility to work remotely on the remaining days.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Ensure Application Excellence: Review loan applications and supporting documentation for completeness, update files directly, and connect with members or loan originators to collect any missing information.
  • Support Loan Processing: Evaluate NOIA and approval conditions, assist in gathering required items for the pipeline, and rekey loans when needed.
  • Prepare Marketing & Event Materials: Order and assemble sales and marketing supplies, help coordinate First-Time Homebuyer seminars, and support community events.
  • Maintain Pipeline Integrity: Monitor and process daily reports for new mortgage loan applications to ensure compliance and pricing accuracy.
  • Manage Required Loan Items: Order documents like VOE, VOR, VOD, SSAE18, tax transcripts, FHA case numbers, and certificates of eligibility.
  • Oversee Exception Reporting: Track and manage pipeline exception reports to ensure service and compliance standards are met.
  • Coach for Success: Provide process and procedural guidance to team members as needed.
  • Manage Key Communications: Handle central Mortgage Division inboxes, review and upload documents, and respond to member inquiries promptly.
  • Problem-Solve Collaboratively: Work with the production team to identify and resolve administrative issues in the loan origination process.
  • Distribute Leads Efficiently: Assign online leads and applications to loan originators for timely follow-up.
  • Ensure Timely Disclosures: Mail initial loan disclosures and decline letters within required timeframes.
  • Coordinate with Vendors: Engage with title, escrow, appraisal, flood, employment verification, insurance, and condo project contacts to keep files moving forward.
  • Monitor Lead Systems: Review mortgage lead management systems to ensure departmental standards are met.
  • Adapt and Assist: Take on additional responsibilities as assigned to support team success.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or associated Certification (GED).
  • Minimum two years of advanced level clerical work experience.
  • Comply with SAFE Act legislation, which requires annual registration as a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO).

Desired Qualifications:

  • One year of experience working in Mortgage Lending, ideally in an administrative sales role supporting multiple loan officers.
  • Proficient math skills, with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Proficient organizational skills.
  • Proficient verbal and written skills to effectively communicate.
