Salary range:

The salary range for this position is $ 69,073-$82,836. "Off-scale salaries", i.e., a salary that is higher than the published system-wide salary at the designated rank and step, are offered when necessary to meet competitive conditions, qualifications, and experience. Application Window Open date: July 28, 2025 Next review date: Friday, Aug 15, 2025 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Sunday, Nov 30, 2025 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description Position Overview Research Areas We are seeking qualified applicants to work on the following areas of research: Responsibilities The incumbent will lead the design and execution of field, greenhouse, and laboratory experiments, oversee data analysis, and prepare manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals. They will contribute to model development and decision-support tools, such as interactive risk maps, and develop molecular diagnostics for pathogen detection and quantification. The role includes diagnosing tree diseases, processing samples, and reporting results to collaborators and stakeholders, as well as engaging regularly with land managers, extension specialists, and community partners. The incumbent will present research findings at scientific conferences, stakeholder meetings, and outreach events. They will also assist with laboratory management, supervise research staff, students, and interns, and contribute to grant reporting, protocol development, and experimental planning. Qualifications Basic qualifications

Ph.D. in plant pathology, ecology, entomology, forestry, microbiology, or a related field. Ph.D. must be in awarded by the start of the position. Basic qualification must be met at time of application. Preferred qualifications
