As a Software Developer, you will serve as a primary resource for software development, including web development, enterprise integrations, and service-oriented architectures at Highwoods. Assist in creating project plans, testing plans, and timelines for development projects.

Work Performed:



  • Design, develop, and deploy custom software applications with a central focus on Microsoft technologies: .NET, SQL Server, IIS
  • Develop technical changes/enhancements based on the specifications provided
  • Assist with the implementation of new packages, software, and tools from a technical standpoint
  • Research, test, and recommend how to adopt new technologies properly
  • Interface with software vendors where applicable in the use and understanding of development tools for enhancements to vendor-provided systems
  • Ensure that all development projects adhere to strict development guidelines, including testing, acceptance, and rollout, by implementing change management controls


Job Requirements (Skills/Knowledge):



  • 3+ years of professional experience in web application development using:


    • C# and ASP.NET
    • SQL Server (2012-2019+), T-SQL, stored procedures, functions
    • SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) and SQL CLR
    • Entity Framework or ADO.NET
    • IIS and Windows Server environments


  • Experience with front-end technologies:


    • JavaScript, HTML, CSS
    • Familiarity with frameworks such as MVC, Angular or TypeScript is a plus


  • Experience with development tools such as:


    • Visual Studio 2017 or later
    • SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)
    • SQL Server Data Tools (SSDT)


  • Proven ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve application and data issues
  • Strong communication skills with a customer-focused mindset
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment



Education/Experience:



  • B.S. degree in Computer Science preferred. A comparable combination of education and experience is acceptable

This job operates in an office setting and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and videoconferencing tools.
