Summary
Responsible for overseeing and promoting quality improvement and patient safety initiatives within critical care units. Works collaboratively with clinical staff to monitor patient outcomes, ensure adherence to safety protocols, and implement evidence-based practices aimed at improving patient care. Analyzes performance data and provides recommendations to enhance safety and quality in critical care settings. Does this position require Patient Care? No Essential Functions -Monitor and assess patient care in critical care units to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards. -Collaborate with critical care teams to identify potential safety risks and develop mitigation strategies. -Analyze clinical performance data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for quality improvement. -Lead initiatives focused on reducing adverse events, hospital-acquired infections, and other complications in critical care. -Participate in root cause analyses and quality improvement projects to address safety incidents and improve patient outcomes. -Develop and implement education and training programs for staff on safety protocols and evidence-based practices. -Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support continuous improvement efforts and accreditation requirements. -Prepare reports and presentations on quality and safety metrics for leadership and clinical teams. Education Bachelor's Degree Nursing required or Master's Degree Nursing preferred Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No Licenses and Credentials Registered Nurse [RN - State License] - Generic - HR Only required Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] - Data Conversion - Various Issuers required Experience Clinical experience in a critical care setting 5-7 years required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - In-depth knowledge of critical care practices and patient safety principles. - Strong analytical skills with experience interpreting clinical data and identifying improvement opportunities. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with interdisciplinary teams. - Experience in leading quality improvement projects and implementing evidence-based practices. - Detail-oriented with the ability to work in high-stress, fast-paced environments.
