We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Engineer with a specialization in route and switch technologies to join our dynamic IT team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the robustness and efficiency of our network infrastructure, which is fundamental to our organization's operations. The ideal candidate will have a deep technical knowledge of routing and switching, coupled with hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex network systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Network Design and Implementation: Architect, configure, and deploy comprehensive network solutions tailored to the organization's requirements. This includes the design and implementation of LANs, WANs, and other network segments.
  • Routing and Switching: Expertly manage routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP, EIGRP) and switching technologies to ensure optimal network performance and reliability.
  • Network Security: Implement and manage security measures to safeguard the organization's network infrastructure. This includes configuring firewalls, VPNs, and ensuring compliance with security policies and procedures.
  • Network Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Proactively monitor network performance, identify issues, and execute timely resolutions to minimize downtime. Utilize network monitoring tools and perform regular diagnostics to ensure network health.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain thorough documentation of network configurations, changes, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Generate reports on network performance, incidents, and usage statistics.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other IT professionals, including system administrators, cybersecurity experts, and application developers, to ensure seamless integration and operation of the network with other systems.
  • Mentorship: Provide guidance and training to junior network engineers and IT staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Vendor Management: Liaise with hardware and software vendors to evaluate and procure network equipment and services. Assess and manage vendor performance to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of the latest developments in network technology and best practices. Recommend and implement upgrades and enhancements to maintain a cutting-edge network infrastructure.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in network engineering, with a strong focus on route and switch technologies.
  • Active CCNA certification is required. CCNP is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, and EIGRP.
  • In-depth knowledge of switching technologies, including VLANs, STP, and VTP.
  • Experience with network security solutions, including firewalls, VPNs, and IDS/IPS.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, or equivalent.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
