We have an exciting opportunity for a Health, Safety, and Environment Coordinator at UL Research Institutes and UL Standards & Engagement, based in our Evanston, Illinois office.

This is a hybrid position.

The Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Coordinator supports the HSE Manager in implementing environmental, health, and safety programs within the organization. The HSE Coordinator assists in ensuring compliance with regulations, maintaining safety documentation, and promoting a culture of safety among employees.

What you'll learn and achieve:

As the Health, Safety, and Environment Coordinator, you will play a key role in the rapid growth of UL as you:

  • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of HSE programs, policies, and procedures.

  • Assist in conducting periodic HSE Audits, identifying corrective actions, and implementing hazard controls to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

  • Assist in providing training to employees on HSE policies, procedures, and best practices.

  • Support investigations of accidents, incidents, and near misses by gathering information and assisting in identifying root causes.

  • Collaborate with HSE team members and cross-functional teams to address safety concerns and promote continuous improvement.

  • Assist in maintaining records and documentation related to HSE activities, including incident reports, training records, and regulatory permits.

  • Stay informed about changes in HSE regulations and industry best practices and support organizational compliance efforts.

  • Assist in developing and communicating emergency response plans and procedures.

  • Contribute to promoting a culture of safety, environmental stewardship, and sustainability throughout the organization.

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Professional education and experience requirements for the role include:

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, or a related field preferred.

  • Previous experience in a related field or environment preferred.

  • Ability to travel up to 30%.

Salary Range:

$45,980.00-$63,222.50
