We are looking for a Principal Engineer who will be responsible for the technical design and hands-on implementation of core features enabling the interoperability of agents across the Agentforce Platform and the broader agentic ecosystem. We are a highly collaborative team that moves fast. We work across Salesforce Core as well as Off Core tech stacks.

As a key technical leader in this organization, you will contribute directly to the platform in the following areas:

  • Lead the implementation of technical designs for the API & SDK strategy of the agent life cycle.

  • Drive the technical design and execution for the support of industry protocols such as A2A & MCP.

  • Implement solutions for the efficient orchestration of agents in complex topologies.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Drive the technical design and implementation of key platform components that support the long-term plan of the Agentforce platform. Translate architectural vision into high-quality, concrete execution.

  • Collaborate with Product Management to refine and translate product requirements into technical specifications and designs.

  • Contribute to the platform's overall technical strategy, communicating design decisions and tradeoffs to the engineering team.

  • Mentor and guide senior engineers and technical leads, promoting engineering best practices and technical excellence.

  • Set and enforce high technical standards within the Platform organization, including participation in the architecture governance framework (e.g., design reviews, coding standards).

  • Drive technical alignment across related Agentforce product portfolios.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science or Engineering

  • At least eight years of experience in platform architecture (SaaS) with at least three years of experience in a similar leadership role

  • Demonstrable experience and interest in architecting complex and scalable platform; expert level knowledge of relevant architecture/ design principles and patterns

  • Proven experience and strong desire to lead, with experience leading cross functional architecture teams

  • Advanced relationship management and communication skills, including partnering and consulting with senior leaders/C-level roles

  • Strong skills in critical thinking, decision making, problem solving, and attention to detail

  • Get-it-done attitude

  • Strong understanding of Generative AI technologies and trends

The typical base salary range for this position is $117,200 - $260,100 annually. In select cities within the San Francisco and New York City metropolitan area, the base salary range for this role is $141,200 - $285,800 annually. The range represents base salary only, and does not include company bonus, incentive for sales roles, equity or benefits, as applicable.
