Key Duties:

Field Responsibilities (Technician Role):



  • Perform tank gauging, LACT unit checks, and meter calibrations to ensure measurement accuracy.
  • Collect and prepare crude oil samples for BS&W, temperature, and API gravity analysis.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and inspect measurement equipment including meters, LACT units, and storage tanks.
  • Ensure compliance with API, BLM, and other regulatory standards during field operations.
  • Work closely with production and pipeline teams during custody transfers and sales events.
  • Conduct meter proving and witness buyer/gatherer measurement operations when required.



Office/Analytical Responsibilities (Analyst Role):



  • Reconcile daily and monthly volume discrepancies using data from flow meters, run tickets, and SCADA.
  • Analyze and validate measurement data within FlowCal, TIPS, or other measurement systems.
  • Prepare and submit reports to internal stakeholders and external regulatory agencies (e.g., BLM, RRC).
  • Monitor crude oil quality metrics (BS&W, gravity, temperature) and flag anomalies or inconsistencies.
  • Support audits by providing detailed measurement documentation and reconciliations.
  • Coordinate with field personnel to resolve measurement issues and maintain data integrity.



Required Skills, Experience, and Education:




  • 3+ yearsof experience in crude oil measurement (technician, analyst, or both).
  • Proficiency in API MPMS standards and regulatory measurement practices.
  • Familiarity with FlowCal, TIPS, SAP PRA, or equivalent measurement/accounting software.
  • Certification or training in hydrocarbon measurement or meter proving, preferred.
  • Experience with both upstream and midstream measurement environments, preferred.
  • Knowledge of SCADA systems and electronic flow measurement (EFM) data, preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Physical ability to work in field environments (climb tanks, handle sampling equipment).
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.



Work Environment:



  • Split between field locations and office
  • Travel required to remote oil and gas sites (25-50% depending on operations).
  • Must be available for periodic after-hours support or emergency measurement issues.
