GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB: Seeking an applicant with a demonstrated knowledge of coating formulating across multiple chemistries, with a focus on reactive, one component systems and butyl technologies, and would be responsible for all efforts regarding new developmental projects and operational and supply chain support regarding them. The incumbent in the role will advance projects effectively once given guidance from senior leadership and communicate project updates to assist in tactical decision making regarding the area of their expertise. They will demonstrate competency regarding adaptability, resourcefulness, collaboration, and accountability to drive projects to completion when working individually or within a group dynamic.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support research projects that deliver business results through data-driven decision making
  • Design & execute experiments to evaluate and optimize the performance attributes of assigned technologies
  • Work within multiple cross-functional teams to enable new product development project success
  • Execute multiple project activities through a defined product development process
  • Execute data analysis and interpretation in support of project and product problem solving
  • Maintain proper documentation of technical and experimental activities
  • Present work and subject matter internally to facilitate discussion of project management
  • Ability to travel up to 25%

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: Bachelor's degree in chemistry

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:

  • 2+ Years' experience in reactive chemistry with preferred knowledge in polymer synthesis.
  • Polymer knowledge in polyurethane and other hybrid systems
  • Experience in solvent-based coatings and sealants (commercial deck coatings and roof systems) preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Incumbent must be able to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, climb, balance, kneel, talk, hear, taste, smell, and lift up to 50 lbs.

BENEFITS AND COMPENSATION:

The salary range for applicants in this position generally ranges between $66,000 and $75.000 negotiable plus incentive compensation. This range is an estimate, based on potential employee qualifications, operations, needs, and other considerations permitted by law.
